On 27 October 2025 (Monday), a Workshop on Advanced Calculator Skills was conducted from 9am to 11am at Dewan Kuliah 3 (DK3), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). The Workshop on Advanced Calculator Skills was successfully conducted to enhance students’ efficiency and problem-solving abilities using advanced scientific calculator functions. This interactive session focused on practical applications tailored for students with an IT background.

The workshop was organized by the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM), Kedah/Perlis Branch, and led by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Cheng Ee Meng as the lead instructor, with Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Khor Shing Fhan is serving as co-instructor.

The session provided participants with valuable tips, shortcuts, and techniques to optimize calculator use for complex mathematical and logical operations to empowering them to approach technical challenges with greater confidence and precision.

The Workshop on Basic Electronic Skills was successfully held to introduce non-science background students to the fundamentals of electronics which covering basic circuit design, measurements, and the use of electronic instruments.

This workshop was organized by the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM), Kedah/Perlis Branch, and hosted by Dr. Saufiah, with assistance from Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Cheng Ee Meng. Nearly 20 enthusiastic participants joined this hands-on session, gaining valuable exposure to basic electronic concepts and practical applications. The workshop aimed to build foundational technical skills and encourage students to explore the exciting world of electronics and technology.

August 4, 2025 | Visit by Delegation from Baoji University of Arts & Science, China to UniMAP TVET Centre. The UniMAP TVET Centre was pleased to welcome a delegation from Baoji University of Arts & Science, China, in conjunction with the Summer Camp 2025 program.

The delegation consisted of 6 students and 6 lecturers, who had the opportunity to visit the following facilities:
- UniMAP Teaching Factory - Additive Manufacturing (URTF)
- Siemens Digital Industry Laboratory
- UniMAP-Huawei Industry Laboratory

The participants also received briefings from the Director of the UniMAP TVET Centre, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Faezah Abu Bakar, Mr. Muhammad Nur Misbah, Manager of the Teaching Factory – Additive Manufacturing, and Dr. Ilman Jais, Manager of the Huawei Industry Laboratory. Chairman of Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) Kedah/Perlis branch, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Cheng Ee Meng assisted in coordinating the visit.

It is hoped that this visit will foster closer international ties and open up more opportunities for academic and research collaboration between Malaysia and institutions in China in the future.
