This is the official page for Montfort Boys Town (Montfort) , a mission of the Brothers of St Gabriel whose main thrust is to build welfare homes and provide vocational skill training to less fortunate youth. Montfort was founded on 01 October 1959 by four pioneering Brothers, namely, Bro Roberge, Bro Evariste, Bro Fernand and Bro Henry. It began in a humble state with attap sheds having no pipe w
ater and electricity supply at Batu Tiga, Selangor, in an old rubber plantation. We were able to progress from attap sheds to this functional setup with equipment for training our less fortunate youth. The training provided is relevant to the needs of our industries and our country. For the past five decades, our trainees are sought after by various companies for their skills & discipline. The purpose of this institution is to offer a second chance to the less fortunate youth or youth at risk to make a change in their lives towards dignified living. This is provided through the Residential Care Programme and Living Skills Training. These youth walk into MBT with no skills, no hope and are not able to see their potential for the future. When they walk out of Montfort Boys Town after 2 years of residential training, they are armed with skills, discipline, confidence, hope and a job. Some graduates are not only employed, but are also capable of owning their own business. Seeing the fruit of our labour, we are able to continue our mission because of the trust the Corporate Companies, Foundations, Individuals & Friends of Montfort and their continued support to this mission for the past 55 years. August 1, 2002 marked a new chapter in the history of MBT with an intake of 11 girls in collaboration with Yayasan Wanita Cermerlang. Since then, the Canossian Sisters have been assisting the Brothers of St. Today, Montfort Boys Town (MBT) has workshops and dormitories sprawled over greenery and gardens well-tended by 320 boys and girls.
