Today, we celebrate 100 years of Sir David Attenborough 💚 a voice that helped the world fall in love with nature.
For many of us working in forests, conservation, and sustainability, his documentaries were more than films. They were reminders that tropical forests are living worlds - rich with life, wonder, complexity, and deep interconnectedness.
From towering dipterocarps to orangutans, hornbills, elephants, rivers, fungi, insects, and Indigenous communities who have cared for these landscapes for generations - tropical forests are among the greatest natural treasures on Earth.
But perhaps one of Sir David’s greatest contributions was not only showing us beauty, but helping humanity understand responsibility.
That protecting forests is inseparable from protecting our shared future.
That climate, biodiversity, water, livelihoods, and people are deeply connected.
And that how we manage our forests matters.
As an organisation promoting sustainable forestry, we remain hopeful that science, collaboration, credible stewardship, and deeper respect for nature can help ensure tropical forests continue to thrive - not only as places of biodiversity, but as living systems that support communities and future generations.
Thank you, Sir David Attenborough, for inspiring millions to look closer, care deeper, and protect what remains.
What we protect today will shape the future of life tomorrow - for wildlife, for communities, and for generations to come.
Happy 100th Birthday. 🌏🌳💚
