Mothers have always been the heart of the table.

The ones who make sure everyone is fed, who gather family together over tea, and somehow make a meal appear even on the busiest days.

Many of the women we work with through Love Welcomes are mothers doing exactly the same thing — even in places facing conflict and uncertainty.

Today 676 million women and girls live within 50 km of armed conflict (UK Parliament Research Briefing). Yet mothers continue to provide for their families every day.

Our Tatreez tea towels and ceramics from Palestine celebrate those everyday rituals — preparing food, sharing tea, and gathering loved ones around the table.

A gift for mum that also supports another mother earning a livelihood through her craft.

Mother’s Day in the UK is this Sunday, 15 March.

A day to celebrate the mums who somehow do it all — putting food on the table, carrying everything we need, and still finding ways to care for everyone around them.

At Love Welcomes, many of the women we work with are mothers too.

Today, 676 million women and girls live within 50 km of armed conflict (UK Parliament Research Briefing). Despite the uncertainty around them, mothers continue to support their families, send their children to school, and rebuild their lives through creativity and work.

When you choose a gift from Love Welcomes, you’re celebrating the mum in your life — while supporting another mother earning a livelihood through her craft.

Some of our favourite gifts for mums:

• Tatreez tea towels & ceramics from Palestine — for the mothers who always gather everyone around the table
• Upcycled sari silk sleep masks & peace pillows from India — for the mums who deserve a moment of rest
• Cheetah carry bags, sari grocery bags, and woven baskets — for the mums who carry everything
• Hand-printed sulus and beach bags from Fiji — for the mums dreaming of their next holiday

Every purchase helps mothers rebuild their lives with dignity and income.

Watch this space as we share a few of our favourite gifts this week — each inspired by what Mum might need most right now.

International Women’s Month | Ukraine

This month we honor the extraordinary resilience of the women of Ukraine.

For more than four years of war, life has been marked by uncertainty. Winters are long and bitterly cold, often with no electricity or heat, yet these women continue to persevere with remarkable strength and grace.

Through the hardest moments, they continue to create.

The women of Love Rises knit warm socks and baby blankets, crochet welcome mats and baskets, and craft the U2 The Edge guitar straps — each piece made with care, skill, and determination.

Their work is more than craft.
It is a way to support their families, rebuild their lives, and hold onto hope through unimaginable circumstances.

Even in the coldest winters, they continue forward — with resilience, creativity, and often, a smile that refuses to fade.

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate the women of Ukraine who remind us that strength can be stitched into every thread.

International Women’s Month | West Bank, Palestine 🇵🇸

This month we celebrate the women who keep culture, heritage, and hope alive through their craft.

Love Welcomes is proud to partner with , working with women artisans in the West Bank who carry forward the tradition of tatreez, the centuries-old Palestinian embroidery passed down through generations.

“Embroidery helps me stay connected to Palestinian heritage through research, collecting drawings and information about Palestinian embroidery, passing it on to future generations, and introducing the world to our heritage,” shares Rahaf.
“My favorite motifs are those embroidered on pillows, bags, and tea towels—each telling a different story, each rooted in generations of tradition.”

Tatreez is more than decoration — each motif tells a story of the land, family lineage, and the perseverance of Palestinian women. Through their work, Rahaf and her fellow artisans ensure these stories continue to be shared with the world.

Together, we created embroidered tea towels and placemats designed to complement our Palestinian ceramics collection. Paired with our olive branch pottery, these textiles help bring the table together — blending craft traditions in a shared message of hospitality, heritage, and peace.

At a time when the Middle East faces deep uncertainty, these pieces carry a deeper meaning. The olive branch, long a symbol of peace, reminds us of the hope that communities across the region continue to hold.

Through every stitch and every piece of pottery, these women preserve culture and share a message that travels far beyond borders: a call for peace.

India 🇮🇳 | International Women’s Month

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate the women artisans of India with our partner , bringing color, creativity, and circular design to life.

As India celebrates Holi — the festival of color and renewal, these artisans transform vibrant upcycled sari silk into beautiful everyday pieces. Our eye masks, scrunchies, and fold-up bags are crafted from reclaimed saris, each carrying the rich history of Indian heritage and identity.

If you know, you know — sari silk is unforgettable.
The colors, textures, and patterns make every piece completely one of a kind.

Beyond these pieces, the women at Work+Shelter also produce many of our small-batch cut-and-sew collections, including our cheetah print bags, Stronger Together sweatshirts, and Peace pillows — thoughtfully made with skill, dignity, and pride.

Choosing upcycled fabrics supports a more circular fashion future:

• Giving beautiful textiles a second life instead of ending up in landfills
• Reducing the need for new raw materials and water-intensive production
• Creating fair, dignified work for women

Through our partnership with Work+Shelter, these artisans are preserving tradition while shaping a more sustainable future for fashion.

This Holi, we celebrate the power of color, culture, and women’s work.

International Women’s Month: Honoring Women Who Create New Beginnings

In Thailand, we partner with women artisans through — creating dignified employment and pathways to sustainable income.

Each bracelet is made bead by bead — patiently, skillfully, intentionally. What may look small carries deep impact: steady wages, restored confidence, and a supportive community of women building brighter futures together.

At Love Welcomes, we believe economic empowerment is one of the strongest pathways to freedom. When you wear this bracelet, you carry a story of resilience, courage, and new beginnings.

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate the women of Thailand — creators, providers, and leaders in their own right.

Made with Love from Ukraine 🇺🇦🤍

This Valentine’s Day, send more than flowers. Send warmth. Send courage. Send welcome.

Our team of women in Ukraine have endured a winter of electricity blackouts, disrupted heating, and daily uncertainty. Since January, heating has gone in and out. Even just this week, after it was briefly restored, attacks cut it again. Temperatures hovered around 0°C. And still — they knit.🧶

They created beautiful shawls, warm blankets, and our handmade Welcome Mats — gifts perfect for your mother, girlfriend, galentine, or to welcome a new neighbor with love.

The artisans are deeply grateful. The supplies we were able to purchase last autumn — because of you — are helping them continue through these difficult days. Through their partner NGO Grow Up, they are also supporting mothers with children right now. These everyday moments of exhaustion are hard to document. But they endure. Spring is coming.

🎸 And the Edge of U2 guitar strap is back in stock — handcrafted through the winter months.
10 pieces have arrived at the delivery office, with 15 more ready to ship shortly. Limited quantity available.

When you choose Love Welcomes, you help women earn income even in the hardest of seasons.
More than beautiful.
Stronger together.

Sending Love Around the World — from Palestine 🤍

This Valentine’s Day, reach out with an olive branch.

Because love isn’t just romantic —
it’s thoughtful, it’s rooted,
and it’s something we choose to share.
