We attended Children’s Rights: Progress in Malaysia, where we explored key issues affecting children across different areas, from education and online safety to legal and jurisdiction challenges.

We split into groups, each focusing on a specific area, bringing together different perspectives and experiences. Using a problem tree, we unpacked the roots (causes), the core issues, and the impacts, before working our way towards the kind of outcomes we want to see 🌳.

It was a space to question, reflect, and learn, and to better understand how these challenges show up across different communities.

Thank you to thulasi munisamy for inviting us into this space. Sessions like this, together with her training, will help us strengthen our child safeguarding policies and better understand how to support and protect children in more meaningful ways.

We wrapped up Children’s Rights: Progress in Malaysia with conversations on the progress made, and the gaps that still need attention, especially when it comes to making sure children are truly heard.

Now we’re just waiting for this video to scuba its way around 🤿

Our Youth Leadership Program (YLP) is starting at the Al-Noor Enrichment Refugee Learning Centre. Over 5 weeks, students will embark on a transformative journey filled with learning and community engagement.

They'll develop confidence and leadership skills while bringing their ideas to life through impactful projects.

Chill & Chat Iftar 2.0 🌙✨

Our second Berbuka Puasa Chill & Chat, thank you to everyone who showed up, survived the Ramadan traffic 🚗💨, and made the night a good one.

Good conversations, a few activities, and people arriving exactly when the athan hit ⏰ (we see you, strategic timing 😏)

Also… our cameraman was clearly too hungry because there are zero photos of the food We promise it existed!🫣

As we entered the last ten days of Ramadan, may we all make the most of them

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of young people who care, about different causes, different communities, different battles, yet somehow speaking the same language of struggle, hope, and persistence.

It felt less like a meetup and more like a reminder, we’re not alone in this work. Across focus areas and lived experiences, there was a shared understanding that inclusion in Malaysia isn’t just an idea it’s something we actively build, conversation by conversation.

Connected with new people, shared stories, and started conversations that could grow into future collaborations. If this is what solidarity looks like, we need more of it. ✊🏽my .my

Building solutions starts with understanding people 🤝✨

Our interns recently took part in an in-depth Human-Centered Design (HCD) workshop led by Hibiscus Horizons, where they learned how to design with empathy, research real user needs, and turn insights into solutions 💡

Through activities like creating stakeholder personas and journey maps, they explored diverse perspectives, needs, and pain points, gaining a deeper understanding of the people they are designing for.

This experience strengthened their ability to think critically, listen deeply, and approach problem-solving with empathy, By putting people at the center from the very beginning, our interns are building a strong foundation in human-centered thinking that will guide their work and decisions moving forward 🚀
