On 16 May, the President of UPF Malaysia, Assistant Prof. Sudesh Balasubramaniam, together with representatives of UPF Malaysia, were honoured to attend the Trinity Convocation of Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Saradha Deva Illam (SSDI) Malaysia Sri Saradha Devi Illam at the Shenga Convention Hall in Batu Caves, Selangor.
The event, graced by YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, gathered more than 700 guests to celebrate the achievements of SSDI graduates in Early Childhood Education, Bharatanatyam dance, and Silambam martial arts.
UPF Malaysia extends our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Kumaran Adakalam, President of SSDI, and his dedicated team for their noble efforts in empowering underprivileged young girls through welfare support, education, arts, and cultural development.
UPF Malaysia and SSDI have maintained a meaningful partnership through educational and cultural exchange programmes, including collaborations during the Deepavali celebrations in 2021. In the same year, Dr. Kumaran was presented with the Distinguished Humanitarian Award by UPF in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service and lifelong commitment to community upliftment.
These continued efforts are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
