We successfully conducted a comprehensive talk on LPPโ€™s ongoing conservation initiatives and latest updates, as well as amazing workshops that helped the students express their passion for wildlife through creativity! โœจ

In LPP, we always strive to deliver impactful environmental education to youths to nurture a new generation that is deeply aware of our environment. We believe that the next generation holds the key to navigate and mitigate environmental change through education and impactful actions ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’š

Jambatan Laluan Kanopi : Menghubungkan manusia dan haiwan liar ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’š

Pasti ramai tertanya , apakah proses-proses yang terlibat dalam pembinaan jambatan kanopi untuk hidupan liar? ๐Ÿค”

LPP ingin berkongsi secara ringkas tentang prosedur yang kami lalui untuk menjayakan pembinaan jambatan laluan kanopi kami! ๐ŸคฉWalaupun sekali pandang nampak mudah, tetapi sebenarnya ia sangat kompleks dan memerlukan komitmen yang berterusan, serta masa yang panjang untuk merealisasikan konsep ini.

Apabila pembinaan jambatan ini siap, kisahnya tidak berakhir begitu sahaja, tetapi diteruskan ke era yang baharu, iaitu kerja-kerja pemantauan, penyelenggaraan, dan pendidikan alam sekitar. ๐Ÿชœ๐Ÿ“–

Projek ini dibiayai oleh Yayasan Gamuda, Geran Youth Environmental Living Labs (YELL), CIMB Islamic EcoSave-i green project funds, ERM Foundation, The Rufford Foundation, Anugerah Biji Alam Awards, dan Hard Rock Cafe Penang. Projek ini disokong oleh agensi-agensi kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang, THB Maintenance (penasihat), Hard Rock Hotel Penang (rakan hospitaliti), Penang Institute dan The Habitat Foundation (koordinator geran untuk CIMB Islamic), serta klien-klien Pendidikan Alam Sekitar LPP.

Team LPP was thrilled to be back at Prince of Wales Island International School - Balik Pulau Campus yesterday for another year of POWIIS Impact Week!๐ŸŒŸ

Our day began with an update on LPPโ€™s latest conservation milestones. It was incredibly special to share this with the students, whose steady support through multiple projects over the years has helped make this work possible๐Ÿซถ

The momentum continued into a whirlwind of hands-on workshops. The students poured their creativity and passion into important missions for our next exciting LPP x POWIIS collaboration (stay tuned!) ๐Ÿคฉ

Immersed in a world of knowledge among thousands of booksโœจ ๐Ÿ“š

Last Thursday, Team LPP visited the Batu Ferringhi Community Library (Petubuhan Perpustakaan Komuniti Batu Ferringhi) for a "No Feeding Monkeys" talk with 19 amazing, energetic children! Together, we learned about different monkey species in Penang, decoded fascinating macaque facial expressions, and explored how we can all live harmoniously with our wild neighbours.๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’š

The best part? We got to exchange stories! ๐Ÿคฉ Everyone shared their unique encounters with our long-tailed monkey friends, leaving team LPP completely fascinated by the children's experiences. ๐ŸŒŸ

Thanks to this insightful sharing session by Uncle Momo (a.k.a. Teo, LPPโ€™s Environmental Education Outreach Officer), everyone got to understand monkeys a little better, seeing them through a lens of compassion and deeper awareness๐ŸŒฟ

Meet Sebastian. He is a ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐ฉ๐ข๐ -๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐ฆ๐š๐œ๐š๐ช๐ฎ๐ž, and his life changed forever when he was left behind in a recreational park in Penang.

In this ๐ง๐ž๐ฐ ๐ž๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐œ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐‹๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ ๐๐ž๐ง๐š๐ง๐  (๐‹๐๐), we follow Sebastianโ€™s real-life journey to show the challenges wild animals face when they live too close to humans.

Many of these monkeys are victims of the illegal pet trade โ€” taken as babies and then dumped when they become โ€œtoo muchโ€ for their owners. By sharing Sebastianโ€™s story, we hope to inspire everyone to protect nature and learn how humans and wildlife can share the same home.

We were thrilled to host the official press conference with YB Zairil Khir Johari (Penang State EXCO for Infrastructure, Transport, and Digital Development) alongside the incredible support of Hard Rock Cafe Penang on the 16th of April 2026. We were incredibly grateful for YB Zairilโ€™s immense compassion and genuine acknowledgment towards LPPโ€™s mission for wildlife conservation, especially for our beloved primate buddies in Penang ๐Ÿ’

It is a true honor to have the support of Penang State Government for LPPโ€™s ongoing conservation efforts. It underscores the growing importance of integrating wildlife protection into our state's development and ensures that Penang remains a safe haven for both its people and natural heritage โœจ

At LPP, we continuously strive for greater milestones not just for our own growth, but to push urban wildlife into the spotlight. We want to ensure that more people recognises the vital role primates play in our ecosystem as an irreplaceable part of Penangโ€™s living heritage ๐Ÿ’

Milestones like this are simply impossible without our supporters and dedicated citizen scientists ๐Ÿ’š

The 2024-2026 Bridge to Coexist is a project in collaboration with APE Malaysia .The project is funded by Yayasan Gamuda, Youth Environmental Living Labs (YELL) Grant, CIMB Islamic EcoSave-i green project funds, ERM Foundation, The Rufford Foundation , Biji Alam Awards , and Hard Rock Cafe Penang. This project is supported by Penang State governmental agencies, THB Maintenance (advisor), Hard Rock Hotel Penang (hospitality partner), Penang Institute and The Habitat Foundation (Grant coordinators for CIMB Islamic), and the Environmental Education clients of LPP.

Learning about monkeys with Dr. Jo Leen! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

We visited Dalat International School Penang recently for the school's Book Week and presented a sharing about "A Friend of Dusky Langur," a picture book by Ammi Art Studio and LPP. โœจ

On top of storytelling, we had so much fun talking about primates, langurs, macaques, scientists, canopy bridges, and community science with the students, where they expressed amazing interest in wildlife and nature and wanted to learn more. ๐Ÿฅฐ

We are much more grateful to Dalat International School Penang for engaging with us to ensure wildlife conservation stories are being told in their school community, where environmental stewardship starts from education, and the young generations are our future. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
