We now have 11 cats already in our care, and big plans to help many more with the opening of our cat rescue centre in January.
So what’s the plan?
The main thing we’ve recognised is that attempting to open a charity that relies on donations is an uphill battle that we likely won’t win. Which is why we will be doing something a bit different. We will be opening a cafe and shop at our premises, selling products and services that people actually want to spend their money on. And then, the money we make will go directly to helping stray cats.
How we will help:
1. Create a rescue space where we can care for pregnant and nursing cats, abandoned kittens, sick and injured cats.
2. Roll out a spay/neuter and release program to start reducing the number of cats being born on the street.
3. Assist existing local volunteers and shelters with vet bills, donations, cat food, equipment etc.
4. Feeding and vaccinating stray cats.
5. Organising short-term fostering and long-term adoption
The plan we have in place means that once we are up and running, we will be predominantly self-sufficient and be able to help many cats across the city, whilst also lending our support to the amazing local people who are already giving so much of their time and attention to this important issue.
Where we still need help is getting everything set up. Currently we are fundraising on two platforms, GoFundMe for people in the UK or elsewhere in the world, and DonorBox for donations within Malaysia. If this is something you would like to help us create, then please check out the links below.
And to those who have already donated - thank you so much, it really means the world to us 💛
