🇲🇾🎥 The I Love Malaysia campaign continues to progress as a Malaysia–China cultural and tourism collaboration, supported by strong industry participation and growing recognition from both public and private stakeholders.

Recently, the Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) shared updates with the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office on the I Love Malaysia initiative and the concrete international resources brought into Malaysia through strategic collaboration.

The delegation was led by Samuel Beh, President of MMFA, together with Ao Fang, General Manager of Xiao Xiang Pictures (潇影) — a subsidiary of Hunan Television, and Mark Wang, CEO of John Woo Productions (China).

As one of China’s leading broadcasters, Hunan Television brings strong influence in youth culture, content IP, and creative education, contributing meaningful value to Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). MMFA has officially signed a strategic partnership with Xiao Xiang Pictures (潇影), supporting youth empowerment, education exchange, creative training, and international exposure for Malaysian talent.

John Woo Productions (China) adds global filmmaking experience and international industry credibility, strengthening Malaysia’s position within the global creative ecosystem.

The delegation was received by Special Officer Datuk Nicole Wong, who acknowledged MMFA’s progress and welcomed the continued development of initiatives with long-term impact. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the Chinese partners, marking another milestone in the I Love Malaysia journey.

Beyond a single campaign, I Love Malaysia reflects a broader shift toward tourism driven by culture, creative content, youth development, and long-term value creation, aligned with national priorities. Moving forward, the initiative will continue to connect public institutions, media organisations, and cultural stakeholders to deepen Malaysia–China cultural understanding.

Malaysia–China Collaboration in Film & Digital Content 🎬🌏

Malaysia has a natural edge in cultural storytelling across the region. China brings top-tier production and technical strength. Together, they form a highly complementary force in short dramas, microfilms, micro-videos, and digital content.

This shared understanding came from a recent meeting between the team behind The Wandering Earth, the Film Directors Association of Malaysia (FDAM), and the Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA).

At the heart of the discussion was how the I Love Malaysia global competition can become a launchpad for Malaysian stories to reach international audiences — especially through short films, micro-dramas, and creative digital formats.

Key topics explored:
🔹 Co-production models between Malaysia and China
🔹 Malaysia’s unique edge in multicultural storytelling
🔹 China’s strong film industry systems
🔹 Opportunities to link content with tourism — especially heading into Visit Malaysia 2026

Looking ahead, MMFA will continue to:
✨ Partner with top production teams in China
✨ Support young creators and the digital content ecosystem
✨ Bring Malaysian stories to the global stage

Malaysia’s Short Dramas Now Have a Gateway into China’s Massive Content Market 🎬🌏

The Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) met with the Zhengzhou Culture & Tourism Bureau, Henan Tourism Chamber, and Zhengzhou Micro Film Association to establish a breakthrough platform:
🎯 Selected works from the “I Love Malaysia” global competition will be prioritised for TV and new media broadcast in Zhengzhou — China’s “Capital of Short Dramas” — and beyond.

This opens up a direct pathway for Malaysian short films and dramas to reach Chinese audiences, tapping into one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing content ecosystems.

Held under the banner of Visit Malaysia 2026, the meeting focused on how storytelling can elevate Malaysian culture internationally while supporting creative industry growth, youth talent development, and rural revitalisation.

Zhengzhou shared its experience in building a mature short drama production ecosystem. Both sides agreed to explore co-production, youth exchange, and new collaboration models to strengthen bilateral cultural and economic ties.

MMFA reaffirmed that taking Malaysian content global empowers young creators, drives cultural exchange, and builds long-term creative economy value for Malaysia.

With this new partnership, Malaysian stories are set to take the global stage — starting in China. 🇲🇾✨

🇲🇾 MMFA × Sichuan Returning Entrepreneurs Association

The Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) met with the Sichuan Returning Entrepreneurs Association to discuss opportunities where Tourism+, rural revitalisation, and skills development can jointly drive Malaysia’s future growth.

A key outcome was the proposal to establish a vocational training school in Malaysia, integrating practical skills with cultural education to strengthen youth development and accelerate rural progress.

MMFA also reaffirmed the strategic significance of Visit Malaysia 2026, emphasising that tourism extends beyond economic value — it builds cultural confidence, supports youth empowerment, and elevates local community voices.

“When our villages are seen, they grow.”
“When our youth are empowered, Malaysia moves forward.”

MMFA will continue advancing culture-based cooperation between Malaysia and China to create shared opportunities. 🇲🇾✨

🇲🇾 MMFA × Chengdu Performing Arts Group
Showcasing Malaysia’s Creative Spirit on the Global Stage 🌏🎬

On 11 October 2025, the Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) met with the Chengdu Performing Arts Group, the Western Financing Service Center, and the Wenzhou Tennis Association to explore new ways the “I Love Malaysia” initiative can expand — through theatre, film, music, and youth-driven creativity.

At the heart of the visit was a meaningful question:
How can Malaysia’s culture and stories connect with global audiences through the arts?

The Chengdu Performing Arts Group shared their experience in large-scale theatre productions, international concerts, and stage creation. They expressed strong interest in collaborating with Malaysia — from joint concerts and youth arts exchanges to fresh models of cultural partnership between the two nations.

One thing became clear during this visit:
Malaysia’s stories deserve a wider stage — and the country has what it takes to become a cultural bridge in Asia.
Our heritage, voices, and creativity are being embraced far beyond our shores.

MMFA will continue opening doors for Malaysian culture — empowering young creators and bringing Malaysia’s stories to bigger, global platforms.

🎬 Let the world hear Malaysia’s voice.
✨ Let our stories become Malaysia’s new identity card to the world

Malaysia is fast emerging as a new hub for China–Europe cultural and industrial collaboration 🇲🇾✨

In a recent strategic meeting, the Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) met with the China-Europe Association for Technical & Economic Cooperation and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFCOM) to explore how Malaysia can bridge Asia and Europe through creativity, storytelling, and cross-border partnerships

At the center of the dialogue were MMFA’s signature initiatives — “I Love Malaysia” and “Me & Malaysia” — global microfilm and short video programs uniting creators worldwide to share Malaysia’s multicultural narratives under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign

Chinese representatives praised Malaysia’s role as a natural connector between China, Europe, and ASEAN, noting how these projects showcase the power of culture and creativity to drive tourism, innovation, and global recognition. They envisioned “Me & Malaysia” as a model for how stories can open markets, connect people, and inspire collaboration

For Malaysia, this marks another meaningful step in its journey toward becoming an Asian hub of culture, commerce, and creativity — where film is not just art, but an engine for opportunity, exchange, and shared progress.

🎬 Through film, we connect cultures
🌏 Through creativity, we shape the future — together

🌿 Tourism + Rural Revitalization
🏙️ Tourism + Physical Economy
🚀 Tourism + High-Quality Development

“ Tourism+ is not just about travel — it’s about transforming culture into a sustainable driver of innovation and shared prosperity. ”

Both sides discussed collaboration under the Asia Tourism Federation, focusing on microfilm, tourism storytelling & digital content — supporting MMFA’s flagship initiatives “I Love Malaysia” & “Me & Malaysia.”

The appointment of Mr. Luo Xiangwen as MMFA’s Chief Digital Finance Representative (China) symbolizes deeper ties between culture, digital innovation & cooperation.

🇲🇾 Malaysia Strengthens China–Malaysia Cultural Partnership under Visit Malaysia 2026 🎬

October 22,2025-The Malaysia Micro Film Association (MMFA) met with China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) International Cooperation Center to explore deeper cultural collaboration ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

During the meeting, MMFA presented several national storytelling initiatives — including “I Love Malaysia,” “Me & Malaysia,” and the China–Malaysia Friendship Concert — highlighting how creative content and short films can connect cultures, boost tourism, and showcase Malaysia’s inclusive spirit.

This engagement marks a new chapter for Malaysia’s creative diplomacy: cultural storytelling is now part of the broader China–Malaysia cooperation framework. Both parties discussed opportunities in film, youth innovation, sustainable tourism, and brand partnerships, paving the way for more joint productions and cultural exchanges.

With Malaysia’s multicultural roots and its bridge between China and ASEAN, the collaboration aims to promote “Malaysian Culture Going Global” — using creativity to strengthen friendship, open markets, and inspire shared growth through stories that connect people.

🥁 In Rhythm and Resonance: MMFA Meets the 24 Festive Drums of Malaysia

The Malaysia Microfilm Association (MMFA) recently visited Johor Bahru to engage with the nation’s intangible cultural heritage — the 24 Festive Drums. Together, they explored how heritage can transcend borders through the art of visual storytelling.

Born in Johor, this cultural gem carries the spirit of Malaysia’s multicultural harmony, with each beat symbolizing unity and vitality. Through the “I Love Malaysia”International Microfilm, Mini-Drama, and Short-Form Video Competition, MMFA aims to collaborate with heritage groups, local tourism, and creative communities nationwide. Under the “Tourism +” initiative, the project seeks to use film as a bridge — bringing heritage to everyday life and sharing Malaysia’s cultural heartbeat with the world — adding vibrant cultural energy to Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

This is a moment where culture meets creativity, and tradition merges with modernity. Through our lens, we capture the story behind every beat, allowing the world to witness Malaysia’s rhythm of culture and imagination — resonating through sound and light, and composing the symphony of “I Love Malaysia.” 🇲🇾✨
