CIE – National Committee (Malaysia) Participation at CIE 2025 General Assembly and Midterm Conference
The CIE General Assembly convened on 6 July 2025 at Austrian Standards in Vienna, preceding the CIE 2025 Scientific Conference. A total of 32 out of 36 National Committees were represented—29 in person and 3 via proxy—underscoring strong international engagement.
The formal session featured comprehensive updates from the CIE President and Secretary General, Governing Board reports, financial and statutory discussions, and announcements of upcoming CIE events. A notable highlight was the National Committee Award Ceremony, which recognized exceptional individual contributions to the global lighting community.
Malaysia was represented by a four-member delegation comprising:
• Chairman Dato' Dr. Siew Choon Thye
• Honorary Treasurer Ir. Ts. Dr. Narendren Rengasamy
• Division 4 Director Ms. Lim Swee Yoong
• Division 5 Director Dr. Vineetha Kalavally
In addition to active participation in the General Assembly, the Malaysian delegation attended the CIE-Division meetings held over two days at the (WKO) – World Economic Chamber building, including the Division Meeting Opening Ceremony.
The conference also offered non-formal sessions such as interactive workshops and open discussions, promoting collaboration and exchange of ideas among National Committees
