Honouring Fathers, Building Futures 💙

Back in June, as Father’s Day approached, we took a moment to celebrate not just fathers, but the foundations they help build — strength, leadership, faith, and love 💪🫶🏻

On 15 June 2025, we kicked off our GB Father’s Day Fundraising, with all funds going directly to Girls’ Brigade Malaysia (GBM) to support the growth, training, and development of girls across the nation.

We made and sold food, handmade crafts, and partnered with friends in church to put together live music — piano, violin, ukulele, and oldies sing-alongs — giving our dads a chill morning to enjoy good food and coffee together ☕🎶

Together, we raised over RM10,000+, helping invest in the next generation of girls — shaping leaders rooted in faith, character, and purpose ✨

“Sure and Stedfast – Seeking, Serving, and Following Christ”

On 18 May 2025, at our 71st BB & GB Enrolment Service, nearly 250 members and officers stood united—not just in uniform, but in purpose. This year, we had the joy of commissioning two new Captains: Ms. Leong Yen May ( 1st Kuala Lumpur Girls' Brigade Malaysia ) and Mr. Leong Rong Fei (1st Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade Company ) - siblings with a powerful journey you’ll want to read all the way through.

Rev Ronald Yap shared a timely sermon titled “Sure and Stedfast: Seeking, Serving, and Following Christ,” based on Matthew 6:25–34 and Hebrews 6:19–20.
In a world filled with uncertainty, we’re reminded of this truth:
We have a hope that is secure—because our anchor is Christ. ⚓✝️

Takeaways from the message:

KNOW: God is faithful—we can anchor our hope in Him as we seek, serve, and follow.

BE: Anchored in Christ, unwavering in faith and hope.

DO: Step forward with Jesus and be life-giving to others.

These aren’t just ideals—they’re lived out through the work of the Brigades. The aims and mottos of BB & GB come alive in our members as they grow in character, faith, reverence, and responsibility. Week by week, we raise boys and girls into young men and women who walk sureb and stedfast—who seek, serve, and follow Christ daily. 🫡

It’s more than tradition. It’s transformation.

Our two newly commissioned Captains? They joined the Brigades at just five years old—over 20 years ago. They grew through the ranks, encountered Christ, and now serve faithfully not only in the Brigades but also across various church ministries. Today, their entire family is baptized and serves actively in KL Wesley.

From children in uniform to captains of faith—this is what God’s steadfast love builds through faithful ministry. Their story is more than a milestone. It’s a living testimony. ✨
