We’re thrilled to announce that abstract submission for the Joint Conference of the International Meeting on Frontier Physics (IMFP) and the 14th Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS) is now officially open!

This landmark event, scheduled for 1st 𝘁𝗼 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸, brings together leading minds in frontier physics, intense laser science and related fields to explore cutting-edge research, sustainable innovations, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Do you know that the integration of creative drama into STEM education is a shift towards STEAM?

In Creative Science Drama Competition, students are required to integrate scientific content and drama. Creative science drama is without-scripts; topic or context is given to the students, students have to write their scripts, decide the cast, act, and improvise their act (e.g., body language, scripts).

This competition is open to teams from Malaysian schools, families and teams from overseas schools and learning institutions.

No fees are charged for participation.

Categories:
-Primary school (12 years old and below)
-Secondary school (13 – 18 years old)
-Tertiary category (e.g. Matriculation, A-level, Form 6, pre-university (Foundation), college and university level or other equivalent)
-Open category (e.g. Family members, there is no age limit for participants, but at least one member must be in primary/secondary school)

3-Minute Video (3MV) Competition 2021 on “Innovative Young Educator”

This competition is open to all students :
- 16 to 17 years old (Category A) and
- 18 to 19 years old (Category B)
across schools, and learning institutions in Malaysia.

Participation could be sole, in pair or a team of maximum 3 members.
Participating student(s) must submit a 3-min video to showcase their innovative to prepare and delivery STEM topic using online learning platform.

Submission:
All submitted 3-min video entries must be in MP4 format and to be received by 15th October 2021 @ 5.30 pm via Google Form and Submission Link: https://forms.gle/cY9TjXQFQkSKhMD66

We are pleased to announce the KLESF International Challenge 2021 will be implemented via online platforms to enhance school students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Schools from Malaysia and overseas with STEM projects are encouraged to participate in the KLESF International Challenge 2021 by demonstrating their projects to the public.

Symposium on Science Education 2021 (SoSE 2021)

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) supported by the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP), UTAR will be organising a one-day Symposium on Science Education 2021 (SoSE 2021).
(SoSE 2021), now into its 7th year, aims once again to showcase different ideas and techniques on innovative and effective teaching methods for STEM subjects.

With the theme of "Fathoming the STEM Education towards Innovative and Intellectual Sustainability", the symposium takes cognizance of the fact that digital technologies are part of innovative teaching methods in order to facilitate the teaching and learning of STEM to engage students' learning especially during pandemic era.

Through sharing and talks by various speakers, the symposium aims to offer take-home tips to educators on teaching and motivating/ stimulating young learners' interest in STEM subjects/courses.

The Symposium shall involve sharing of teaching method/ tools by winners of the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science Education Award, followed by lecturers / instructors / facilitators from Teacher's Training Colleges / Universities and Excellent Teaching Award school teachers.

Objectives:
1. To share innovative and effective teaching methods in STEM education.
2. To create awareness of the current innovative teaching methods and how to embed innovation in the teaching and learning of STEM education.
3. To provide networking opportunities for STEM educators from various schools, colleges and universities.

Who Should Attend:
- Highly recommended to STEM teachers/educators from national schools, private and international schools as well as pre-university and institutions.
- It is also open to individuals or organisations that are involved in the advancement and progress of STEM education.
