A full house at Dewan Sri Baiduri.

On 11 August 2026, the United Nations Association of Malaysia (UNAM), the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) and the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) jointly convened a forum on “The New Political & Economic World Order: The Need for Radical UN Reforms.”

The morning opened with remarks from YBrs. Dr. Wan Baharudin Wan Mahmood, Deputy Director of INTAN, followed by welcoming remarks from UNAM President YBhg. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed.

Our panel brought together YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faisal bin Muhamad, Deputy Secretary-General (Multilateral) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Nikolas Myint, UN Resident Coordinator to Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam — moderated by Dr. Roy Anthony Rogers of Universiti Malaya.

The floor was just as engaged as the stage. Diplomats, academics, public-sector officers and students filled an extended Q&A before YBhg. Dato’ Zainol Rahim bin Zainuddin, Director-General of IDFR, closed the session.

Terima kasih to everyone who joined us.
