When Sean Xian was born with a congenital heart defect, his father Eric Tan Chin Zhia didn't know where to turn or how to fund the treatment his newborn son urgently needed.

Sean Xian had his first open heart surgery within two weeks of birth, and that early intervention changed everything.

Today, he's 11 — jogging, playing basketball, and planning to own a fast-food restaurant someday.

Eric knows first-hand how isolating that journey can be. That's why he's running for YJKM, so that families facing the same situation today have somewhere to turn and the support to get their child the help they need.

[FUNDING APPEAL] Two heart surgeries down. One to go.

Areeq was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries and a large VSD - a critical heart condition that meant surgery at just 30 hours old, another at 2 months, and now, at 18 months, one final operation stands between him and a normal, healthy childhood.

He's the youngest of three. His father works hard to provide for the family, but years of hospital bills and two major surgeries have taken their toll. We need RM8,000 to fund Areeq's third and final surgery.

URGENT: Dhian's Life Depends on Emergency Heart Surgery 🚨

Born this past November, Dhian was diagnosed at birth with three serious congenital heart conditions: an interrupted aortic arch, a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), and a ventricular septal defect (VSD) - meaning her aorta is disconnected and her heart has abnormal openings that are forcing it to work far beyond what it should.

What her parents thought was a routine outpatient visit in Kuala Lumpur today turned into an emergency. She is now in the ICU, and doctors say she needs an urgent procedure - money her family simply does not have.
Every hour matters for a baby with this condition. With your help, we can get her the surgery she needs and give her parents one less thing to fear while they sit by his ICU bed.

Run For A Reason takes on a different meaning when you meet the people behind it.⁠

Yesterday, RFAR runners raising funds for Yayasan Jantung Kongenital Malaysia (YJKM) gathered at Taman Wawasan for a group run with our KLSCM 2026 pacers — and a closer look at the cause they're running for.⁠

YJKM CEO Eric Tan, whose son was born with a congenital heart defect, shared what life looks like for children living with this condition. His son was there too — proof that with early treatment, these children can grow up strong and healthy. But that outcome depends on access to care, and not every family can afford it.⁠

That's why every kilometre trained and every ringgit raised go toward funding surgeries for children who need it most.⁠

💪 Kudos to the heart heroes!

A huge thank you to Amanda and the community for coming together to raise RM1,975 at their Stronger Hearts Together event last Friday!

These funds will be allocated to our Healing 100 Hearts campaign that will fund the treatment of underpriviliged patients in the East Coast.

A special shout out to Dr Syahmi from Poliklinik HopeVision () who supported the day with a heart health workshop and an on-site health screening.

When we put our hearts together, we can achieve so much. Thank you to the team!

One of the 11 little hearts mended this quarter ❤️ Born with a valve defect, she needed urgent care.

With your support, she received the treatment she needed - and 10 other hearts did as well. They now have a chance to grow, play and live fully.

YJKM supported RM62,000 in funding corrective heart operations so far this year.
