Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union's Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS) 2026 is now underway.

The opening of DBS 2026 was officiated by Malaysiaโ€™s Minister of Communications, YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who emphasised the importance of adaptation in an increasingly AI-driven environment.

In his remarks, he noted that while artificial intelligence is unlikely to replace journalists, those who embrace and upskill in new technologies will be better positioned to lead the industry forward.

ABU DBS 2026 | First Speaker Line-up Announced

The 22nd ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS 2026) will take place from 30 March โ€“ 2 April 2026 at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together 1,200+ broadcasters, innovators, and industry leaders across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

This yearโ€™s theme,โ€œThe Rising Synthetic Eraโ€, will examine how artificial intelligence is shaping broadcasting, from programme making to content sharing and audience connection.
