What would an extra RM500 monthly mean for you? 💰

For Puan Dusiah, it means more time, better nutrition, and financial stability for her family of 7 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

Before joining the program, RM70 of her monthly income went just to buying vegetables, which didn’t even include other household needs!

Fast forward today, her family rarely buys vegetables anymore. By growing her own produce and selling her extra harvests, her income has grown from RM1,300 to RM1,800, a sustainable change that helps her provide for her family with greater ease and peace of mind💭

It didn’t stop there! With her community’s newly repaired gravity water system by Hopes Malaysia, she’s now rearing fish, creating a sustainable source of protein and ensuring a more balanced diet for her family.

This is the power of empowerment—building brighter, more secure futures one step at a time!✨

For years, families in Kampung Tuguson have struggled with an old, worn out gravity water system, barely keeping up with their growing needs. Each year, the struggle grew tougher as clean water became a rare luxury instead of a basic necessity.

But change is finally here! With the incredible support of Sokong Malaysia and Heineken Malaysia, hope flows again. This month, the villagers received their first batch of materials and began gotong-royong to lay new pipes.

What makes this initiative truly impactful is its sustainability. The villagers aren’t just receiving help—they’re actively involved and equipped with the skills and knowledge to maintain the system for the long term, ensuring clean water access for generations to come.

Soon, over 40 families (more than 200 people) will finally enjoy clean water. This means better health, more savings, and brighter futures ahead.

Together, we’re building hope and empowering communities, one project at a time! 💧✨

“Never did I imagine that one day, I’d have a farm surrounded by all my self-grown crops!🥬”

These are the words of Juene, reflecting on her journey after joining our farming program. Back in February 2024, she took her first step toward a new chapter by joining our workshop (pic 2). At that time, she was eager but unsure of how to grow her own food.

Now, Juene’s farm is filled with fresh leafy greens and fruit vegetables (pic 4)😍, which means lower expenses on groceries and better food security for her family. Best of all, whenever she needs veggies, she can just step outside and pick them right from her farm!🥬🤭

In the city, we can get almost anything delivered right to our doorstep - groceries, food, and even building materials— with just a tap on our phones. But for rural communities, it's a whole different story 📖

Take our gravity water projects as an example💦. Transportation can only go as far as the community hall, where materials are dropped off. From there, it’s up to the villagers to move everything to the project sites themselves. Like the men in these two pictures, carrying water pipes one by one, alongside the rest of the community.

Here’s the thing: each roll of pipe weighs around 80kg and it's super long, making it almost impossible to carry it all alone. But the hard work doesn't stop there - it also involves connecting each piece and making sure everything runs smoothly until the water system is fully functional!

This is why we always emphasize community involvement—it’s their dedication that ensures these projects succeed in the long run 💪

Urban convenience might be easy, but nothing compares to the power of a community coming together to build something that truly lasts✨

Finally, brighter days are finally here for the villagers Kampung Kaung Ulu & Lobong-Lobong ✨

For years, crossing the old suspension bridge was a daily gamble for over 100 villagers. Farmers struggled to keep their trolley’s wheels from dropping into the gaps, and students walked cautiously, fearing they might slip through the holes.

But this year, everything changed. In April, we joined hands with Yayasan Hartalega to restore this vital bridge.

Together with their tremendous support, farmers can now transport their harvests with ease, and young students can finally walk to school safely and confidently.

To make the bridge even safer and more sustainable for long-term usage, we also recycled old tires to create a durable, non-slip pathway to prevent anyone from slipping even on rainy days.

Imagine relying on a few decades old gravity water system that barely works with leaking pipes and constant blockages during rainy seasons, not even having enough water for daily needs 🚱

For the 116 families in Kampung Sogoh, this was their daily reality. They had no choice but to spend nearly RM500 a month on clean drinking water and travel to the river just to collect water for bathing and washing - a burden that drained both their time and finances ⏳️💸

Early this 2024, everything changed. Together with Hartalega, we repaired and upgraded their gravity water system, bringing clean, reliable gravity water straight to their homes🏠💦

No more trips to the river or spending hard earned money on buying water. Now, they can focus on what truly matters - like improving their lives and starting sustainable farming to secure a brighter future👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
