Gamma Chapter (ADK Mexico) – Project Report
Book Distribution Initiative – Tlaxcala and Rural Communities
Overview
The Gamma Chapter of ADK Mexico is actively leading a large-scale literacy and resource distribution project focused on providing semi-used books and National Geographic magazines to underserved communities, particularly in Tlaxcala, with additional outreach in Chiapas and Hidalgo.
Project Implementation: With the generous collaboration of multiple partners, this initiative has successfully facilitated the distribution of thousands of books in both English and Spanish to rural schools.
Key operational support included: 🚐 Peterson Schools – Provided drivers and transportation (vans)
🅿️ Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (UAT) – Provided a parking facility for book distribution
📚 Rural primary and secondary school teachers – Attended distribution events and collected books for their students
During a recent distribution event, hundreds of books were successfully delivered directly to educators serving rural communities.
Recent Donations and Logistics
📦 40 boxes (40 books each)
📦 18 boxes (16 books each)
All materials were transported with the support of Peterson School vehicles. These resources are scheduled for delivery at the end of April to:
Rural Telesecundaria schools
Náhuatl-speaking schools
Partnerships and Contributions
This project has been made possible through strong collaboration with:
Peterson Schools (General Director and team)
Educational Foundation of the Americas
American Benevolent Society
ASF (American School Foundation) – Upcoming donation from Book Fair leftovers
Additionally, banana transport trucks were used to deliver books, magazines, and furniture to Tapachula, where several new libraries (3–4) were successfully established.
Impact the project had:
📖 Thousands of books distributed
🏫 Multiple rural schools supported
📚 New libraries established in underserved communities
🌎 Educational access expanded in Tlaxcala, Chiapas, Hidalgo, and Tapachula
This initiative is considered Gamma’s most impactful project since the early 1990s.
Current Needs: Despite its success, the project continues to require support:
🍽 Funding for meals for drivers (chofers)
⛽ Support for fuel and toll expenses (casetas)
📦 Continued logistical support for transportation
🌍 Assistance in securing additional donations, especially from National Geographic
Currently, these operational costs are being personally covered, and additional financial support is urgently needed to sustain the project. Thank you, Saenz and , from the Gamma chapter, for your brilliant work
