The cost of living is pushing people in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan to breaking point.

Communities are asking for affordable electricity, lower food prices, a fair share of the wealth their own resources create, and public services that work. The response has been violence and a shutdown of the internet, cutting people off and making it harder to speak out.

Fight Inequality Alliance stands with the people of Azad Kashmir and their call for dignity, justice, and an economy that works for the 99%, not the few.

Gen Z just brought down a minister. When India's Chief Justice called jobless youth "cockroaches," they made it a badge of survival and built the Cockroach Janta Party. Tear gas, criminal cases, facial recognition tracking: none of it stopped them. They shared food and cared for each other through 36 days of protest, and forced the education minister out. This crisis didn’t happen by accident. While people across the world choose between heating and eating, the companies behind the price spikes post record profits. It’s a political choice, and choices can change. Governments can bring in emergency price controls, tax the profiteers, invest in public services and cancel unjust debt. They’re choosing not to.

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved comrade Njoki Njehû passed away peacefully at home in Nairobi on Saturday 18 July 2026.

A Pan-Africanist, feminist and popular educator, Njoki helped build Fight Inequality Alliance from its earliest days and shaped our movement across Africa and the world. She never forgot anyone, and held space so generously.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for" was the conviction she organised by. We will keep building the power she believed in.

Rest in Power, Comrade Njoki Njehû.
