We have ended this program. But if you do have a laptop or tablet that you’d like to donate please contact Jackie Conlon.

We’ve recently given a couple of tablets to children in need because of their circumstances. One of them is a young girl who has some health issues that keeps her from going to school.

🛑 The Tablet Program has come to an end.

💻 We have given over 110 devices to children in need to improve their schoolwork.

Now that some of the schools are doing face-to-face as well as virtual I feel that we have been able to make a difference for so many Isla students and their families.

Thank you to everyone who donated used or new devices, contributed monetarily and muled tablets to the island for us.

This was a very fulfilling, heartwarming program. I thank everyone 💯% who participated in any way to help us make the island’s children’s learning environment a better place during the pandemic.

* If you have tablets new or used that you would like to donate please contact Jackie Conlon or leave a message through this page. We will make arrangements for dropping them off when you take them to the island.

We have given over 💯 tablets and laptops to children on the island. Some were new and some were used. We still have a wait list of children but no devices to give to them at this time.

Every child who has received a tablet or laptop has been very happy to have a tool to help them better their learning environment. Our tablet team will begin doing visits to the recipients of the laptops and tablets to check in on them to see how it’s going. We may find that there’s a common thread about other apps that are necessary for the students to make the best use of their new devices.

Thank you to all the donors and people who have “muled” tablets to Isla for us. Thank you to the Tablet Team! There are still so many children that we can help to improve their virtual learning experience.

Update on what we’ve been doing on the tablet project.

💻 We have given over 100 devices to children in need. We have a wait list of students but we don’t have the inventory to give them a tool that they need to improve their schoolwork.

We have reached a major milestone! 💯 tablets have been delivered to Isla students to improve their learning environment. When this project started I never dreamed that we could help so many children better their virtual school experience.

We have a great team working together to get children in need of a device to better their learning environment. Here is another example of the teamwork of the tablet team.

This is from Dede who bought and gave a tablet to a boy she knew needed one.
“Jackie Conlon assisted by helping her purchase the correct one and getting it here. Steve Ferree delivered it and helped him set it up along with Duo Lingo. He also explained why it was important for him to learn English if he becomes a pilot, because no matter where he is in the world, communication with the air tower is always In English.

He was over the moon. And when he said he wanted to be a pilot, Steve started showing him pics of the jets he worked on. It was like he was in Disneyland! And the father teared up several times. The kid is bright, polite and driven, so this is such a benefit! Thanks for all you and Steve do!”
