SEVENTEENTH SITTING OF THE UNIMASA PARLIAMENT
19 September 2026

The seventeenth sitting of the University of Malawi Students’ Association (UNIMASA) Parliament took place on 19 September 2026 at Chikowi 1 (CK1), within the University premises.

The sitting brought together Members of Parliament representing all UNIMASA Parliamentary Constituencies, comprising the various programmes of study.

The Director of Students Affairs was present to respond to the various petitions and concerns raised by Members of Parliament. The Students’ Representative Council was also present to respond to matters brought before Parliament.

Among the issues deliberated were academic affairs, healthcare, accommodation, entertainment, and the welfare and inclusion of students living with disabilities.

The Parliament also adopted the UNIMASA Agenda 2030, setting out a framework for continued engagement and action on matters affecting students.

It was a productive sitting that provided a platform for student representatives to raise concerns, deliberate on matters of importance and contribute to improving student life at the University of Malawi.
