CHECK ON YOUR PEOPLE. 💚
Don't wait for someone to tell you they're struggling.
Send the message.
Make the call.
Sit with them.
Listen.
Be patient.
Encourage professional support when needed.
Sometimes, being there is the first step toward getting help.

TO ANYONE HAVING A REALLY DIFFICULT DAY:
You don't have to handle everything by yourself.
Talk to someone you trust.
Reach out to a friend, family member, teacher, counsellor, social worker, or health professional.
Allow yourself to ask for support.
Asking for help is a sign that you deserve support—not a sign of weakness. 💚

SEPTEMBER: A MONTH TO CHOOSE HOPE 💚
You never know what someone is carrying behind their smile.
Be kind.
Listen without judging.
Check on your friends.
Take emotional struggles seriously.
Encourage people to seek support when they are struggling.
A simple “Are you okay?” can open the door to a conversation that matters.
💚 You are not alone. Your life matters. Your story matters.

Outsiders find the humour shocking. They are usually the same people who ask how we do it.

Those two things are connected.

The laughing in the office after a bad one is not callousness, it is the pressure valve, and every profession that deals with the worst of it has the same thing. Police have it. Nurses have it. Undertakers absolutely have it.

What it is not is a substitute for support, and the piece is clear about where the line sits.

What is the darkest thing your team has laughed at this year?
