This morning, Ntchisi Organisation for Youth and Development (NOYD), in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV), held an important health talk at Ntchisi LEA and Buzi Primary Schools in Ntchisi District.

Working closely with the district hospital, the focus was on raising awareness among children about non-communicable diseases (NCD), specifically diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.

The interactive sessions educated young learners on how these diseases affect their health, emphasizing the importance of early detection, proper management, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Through this initiative, NOYD strengthens its commitment to child rights, protection, and participation by empowering children with critical knowledge to safeguard their well-being.

NOYD thanks JICA/JOCV and the Ntchisi District Hospital for their continued support and expertise in making this initiative a success.

Together, we are building a healthier future for our children and community.

Ntchisi Organization for Youth and Development is currently developing a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) policy, fully aligned with it's strategic plan. This key initiative is taking place in Mponela, Rams Lodge facilitated by the AICC- African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC) with generous funding from NGO Regulatory Authority - NGORA (NGORA). The development of this policy is a significant outcome of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) capacity-building project supported by Save the Children International. This project has been integral in strengthening NOYD organizational systems and overall effectiveness.

The new M&E policy will provide NOYD with a robust and systematic framework to track progress, measure impact, and ensure transparency and accountability in all the programs and activities. Through well defined procedures for data collection, analysis, and reporting, it will be able to gather accurate and timely information that will inform evidence based decision making. This enables the Organisation to improve the quality, efficiency, and relevance of its interventions, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

The policy will guide the team in identifying strengths and challenges in the programs, helping it to adapt and innovate continuously. Strong monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are essential for sustainable development, allowing NOYD to demonstrate the real difference of its work which is making while fostering learning and growth within the organization.

NOYD deeply appreciate the support from different partners, including the AICC, NGORA, and Save the Children. Their collaboration and funding have been crucial in empowering NOYD to build stronger institutional capacity and deliver impactful, accountable programs that contribute meaningfully to community empowerment and development.

Together, we are committed to advancing transparency, enhancing program effectiveness, and driving positive change for a better future.

NOYD Raises Awareness on Children’s Rights and the Environment!!!!

Today, Ntchisi Organisation for Youth and Development (NOYD), with the support of Save the Children International on SIDA project successfully organised a sensitisation activity for children and community members on General Comment 26 at Chaola Primary School Traditional Authority Kasakula in Ntchisi District Council.

The event aimed to raise awareness about children’s rights to a healthy environment, as outlined in GC 26, empowering participants to understand how environmental issues and climate change impact their wellbeing.

The activity in addition to many achievements, also created a free and conducive platform to enable people to reveal that children living with different forms of disabilities and vulnerabilities are denied their right to education in the area. It was learned that in Chentche and Vinyungu VDCs there are children most affected by inequality and discrimination due to having different forms of disabilities and vulnerabilities.

An action plan has been effected to register all such children and make sure they are sent to school when schools open.
Area Development Committee and all other Child Protection Committees in TA Kasakula have been tasked to spearhead registration of these children and facilitate them to go to school.

We believe that when children and communities are informed and engaged, they can actively participate in protecting and advocating for a sustainable and safe environment for all.

Together, let’s make our environment safer and healthier for present and future generations!
