Ntchisi District Council has today unveiled plans to transform Ng'ombe Trading Centre into a modern urban hub for the district.

The council’s Physical Planning Officer, Kelvin Chomanika, said the centre will help spur trade by attracting diverse investors, thereby strengthening the district’s economic stability.

Chomanika made the remarks today, during a District Executive Committee (DEC) meeting.

On his part, the District’s Director of Planning and Development (DPD), Henderson Kaume, said the initiative is part of the council’s broader plan to uplift the district’s profile.

The initial phase of the project, worth K80 million, is funded by the World Bank.
