Our members arrived at the meeting point by 6:00 AM sharp today. We spent the morning cleaning up areas around Dwangwa Trading Centre.

At Tukula Mudzi, we believe that hygiene and sanitation are very important. Keeping our surroundings clean helps stop diseases from spreading. We are dedicated to keeping our environment free from waste.

Today, the youth showed great leadership in taking care of our environment.

This activity was organised by our MP Hon. Dorothy Chikonje, and Ward Councillor G-Polly. Together, we are keeping our community clean and safe! 🌍💪

Ku Tukula Mudzi, timakhulupirira kuti ukhondo ndi chisamaliro cha malo athu n’kofunika kwambiri. Kusunga malo athu oyera kumathandiza kuletsa kufalikira kwa matenda. Ndife odzipereka kusunga chilengedwe chathu chopanda zinyalala.

Lero, achinyamata awonetsa utsogoleri wabwino posamalira chilengedwe chathu.

Ntchito imeneyi inakonzedwa ndi MP wathu, Olemekezeka Dorothy Chikonje, komanso Khansala G-Polly. Pamodzi, tikusunga dera lathu loyera ndi lotetezeka! 🌍💪

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹! 🎉

Tukula Mudzi has now received its official certificate from the Nkhotakota District Council Social Welfare Department. This is an important step for us. It gives us the full mandate to work with the community.

We are now ready to bring positive change to our community🤩. We will work with community members and partners to address community needs.

Tukula Mudzi yalandira satifiketi yake yovomelezeka kuchokera ku gawo yoona za Chitukuko cha Anthu ya Nkhosolo la boma la Nkhotakota. Takonzeka kugwira ntchito za chitukuko zosiyanasiyana m’malimana a Gulupu Kankhomba.

Ndifenso okonzeka kupanga ma ubale osiyanasiyana ndi ma bungwe ena amene akugwira zintchito zofanana ndi zathu.

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗱𝘇𝗶✨

Our first introductory meeting was held on February 10, 2026 at GVH Kankhomba’s residence. We formally introduced Tukula Mudzi. Our team was led by the Vice Chairlady, Alice Phiri. During the meeting, the team shared key focus areas of the organization. These include climate action, strong and resilient communities, health and wellbeing, economic growth and social justice, digital development, education and innovation, gender equality, and community protection.

GVH Kankhomba highlighted the challenges facing his village. He said, “We face serious issues like child labour, child marriages, s*x trafficking, floods, and poverty.” He added that these problems are closely linked to the work of Tukula Mudzi, hence the need for collaboration.

In closing remarks, our Secretary, Faith Chumachaazungu, thanked the GVH for the warm welcome. She said, “We are excited to work together to create positive change and support sustainable development in our community.”

We are thrilled to introduce the members of our first Executive Committee. Following our second full-member meeting held on February 8, 2026, and in line with our constitution, we conducted elections to appoint leaders who will guide and coordinate our activities.

This seven-member team will champion our mission and vision. We are ready to launch various activities in our community. All positions are voluntary and will run for 12 months, with the possibility of re-election based on performance.

On January 31, 2026, youth from 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮 in Nkhotakota District came together to discuss the future of our community.

We openly recognised the serious challenges we face today. These include drug and substance abuse among young people, school dropouts, teenage pregnancies, gender-based violence, lack of sanitation and hygiene, food insecurity, the growing impacts of climate change, and others.

In response, we proudly launched 𝗧𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗱𝘇𝗶, a new Community-Based Organisation. The name means “Uplift the Village” in Chichewa. It reflects our vision of a thriving community where innovation, resilience, and justice uplift every member.

Our mission is to uplift the village by integrating technology, climate resilience, health, gender equality, education, and inclusive economies into sustainable community solutions.

Our work focuses on key areas: climate action and food systems, health and wellbeing, inclusive economic growth, digital transformation and education, and gender equality with community protection.

During the launch, member 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗼𝘇𝗮𝗽𝗶 shared: “Many young people lack support and are turning to drugs. This organisation has started at the perfect time.”

We are committed to working hard for our home. We warmly invite women, men, youth, children, and the elderly to join us.

Together, we can build a resilient, inclusive, and empowered community.
