Concerned labour officers in the country have written their Principal Secretary declaring a dispute step towards industrial action which will culminate into a sit-in after 21 days leading to the closure of all labour offices.

The officers claim that for so long they have been asking the ministry to devolve human resource to local government, effect promotions of eligible officers, finalize new functional review besides removal of labour commissioner, Hlalerwayo Kelvin Nyangulu.

They are accusing him of incompetence and failure to provide strategic leadership and failure to forge a harmonious working relationship with social partners resulting in poor coordination.

"Enough is enough, we cannot be checking the working conditions of others while we are the victims of exploitation. Decent work for all," they concluded.

Meanwhile, Nyangulu has declined to comment on the concerns, saying, he is yet to receive the letter.
