Pakaya Initiative Joins NGORA-Led Meeting on Compliance, Reporting & International Partnerships
Pakaya, a registered member organization with the Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA), took part in a high-level meeting convened by NGORA today 4th june 2026. The forum brought together NGO representatives to strengthen understanding of NGORA’s regulatory framework and improve accountability across the sector.
The meeting emphasized three key areas for all registered organizations:
Understanding NGORA Regulations
NGORA officials stressed that compliance with the NGO Act and its regulations is not optional. Organizations were reminded to align their operations, governance structures, and programs with national standards to maintain good standing and protect beneficiaries.
Timely Reporting
A major focus was on mandatory reporting. NGORA highlighted that regular submission of activity reports, financial reports, and annual returns helps build trust with government, donors, and communities. Late or missing reports, they warned, can affect an organization’s registration status and access to future partnerships.
Registering International Partnership Agreements
NGORA also urged NGOs to formally register all partnership agreements with international organizations. The Authority noted that documenting these agreements ensures transparency, avoids duplication of projects, and protects local organizations in collaborations with foreign partners.
