Nairobi, we’re coming! πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

This July, Youth Impact Organization will be joining changemakers, innovators, and leaders from across Africa at Segal 2026.

There’s something special about being in a space where bold ideas, meaningful connections, and African-led solutions come together to shape the future.

We’re excited to learn, share, connect, and represent the voices of young people as we take part in this incredible gathering.

See you in Nairobi!

Our team had the privilege of traveling to South Africa for a valuable learning and knowledge-sharing experience with support from the Southern Africa Trust.

The visit brought together organisations and change-makers committed to strengthening civil society and creating lasting impact in their communities. Throughout the engagement, we explored innovative approaches to organisational learning, capacity development, leadership, and collaboration.

The experience provided a platform to reflect on our work, share our experiences, and learn from others working across the region. These lessons will help us strengthen our systems, improve our programmes, and increase our impact among the youth, women, children, and communities we serve in Malawi.

We are grateful to Southern Africa Trust for investing in learning and growth within the civil society sector. The knowledge, connections, and inspiration gained during this journey will continue to shape our work as we strive to build stronger and more resilient communities.

πŸ“Œ 🚨

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a serious issue affecting many young people and communities. It happens in different forms and often stays hidden because of fear or silence.

Did You Know?
πŸ”Ή GBV can be physical, emotional, sexual, or economic abuse.
πŸ”Ή It can happen anywhere β€” at home, school, work, or online.
πŸ”Ή Silence often protects the abuser, not the victim.

What Should You Understand?
βœ” No one deserves to be abused, regardless of situation or relationship.
βœ” Consent must always be clear and respected.
βœ” Speaking out early can prevent further harm.
βœ” Support systems exist, and help is available.

What Can You Do?
βœ” Report abuse to trusted authorities or community leaders.
βœ” Support survivors instead of blaming them.
βœ” Learn about your rights and educate others.
βœ” Encourage safe and respectful relationships.

GBV is not a private issue to ignore, it is a community problem that needs awareness, action, and responsibility from everyone.

πŸ“Œ 🚨

Many young people today are not failing because they lack opportunities, but because small daily choices are shaping their future in the wrong direction. Character is what you do when no one is watching.

Did You Know?
πŸ”Ή Your habits today can decide your life tomorrow.
πŸ”Ή One wrong decision can delay your progress for years.
πŸ”Ή Discipline is more powerful than motivation.

How Can We Build Strong Character?
βœ” Learn to say no to pressure that destroys your future.
βœ” Choose friends who push you forward, not pull you back.
βœ” Be honest even in small things.
βœ” Respect time, wasted time rarely comes back.
βœ” Stay consistent even when nobody is clapping for you.

Success is not only about talent, it’s about character and discipline.
The choices you make daily are building the life you will live tomorrow.

Youth Impact Organisation, in collaboration with the consultants, facilitated a meeting with the Machinga District Gender Technical Working Group (GTWG) on the TEENS Project. The meeting brought together government officials and other key stakeholders to provide updates on the progress of the project and strengthen stakeholder engagement throughout the assessment process. Machinga District was also identified as the control study area for the survey.

The TEENS Project is being implemented in Lilongwe, Balaka, and Machinga districts. In Machinga, the project is being implemented in Traditional Authorities Nchinguza, Mizinga, Ngokwe, and Sale. The project is supported by the Embassy of Ireland through UNFPA, in partnership with Malawi Girl Guides Association (MAGGA) and Youth Impact Organisation.
