πŸ‰ T1 Non-Contact Rugby Readiness! πŸ‰
The countdown is on! In collaboration with Malawi Rugby Union, we are excited to be preparing for the second-ever T1 Rugby Tournament in Malawi, taking place on Saturday, 13 June 2026.
What makes this tournament special?
This is more than a rugby event. It is an opportunity to bring together children with and without disabilities to play, learn, connect and thrive through sport in an inclusive and supportive environment.
As part of our preparations, we have brought together the Malawi Rugby Union Development Officer, 12 dedicated volunteers, our Clubs for Development coaches and Bhubesi Pride Foundation - Malawi NGO staff to plan and deliver an event that is inspiring, purposeful and inclusive.
Together, we are creating a space where every child can participate, belong and be celebrated.
πŸ“ One tournament.
🀝 One community.
🌟 Countless opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, teamwork and respect.
We cannot wait to see the young people take to the field and show what inclusive rugby in Malawi looks like.

We are committed to ensuring that no young person misses out on opportunities to learn, play, and grow because of their period.

As part of our Menstrual Hygiene Support Program, we have been providing training on the use of menstrual cups as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to reusable and commercially manufactured sanitary pads. This initiative is helping our program participants better manage their menstrual health with confidence, dignity, and choice.

By improving access to menstrual hygiene education and products, we are reducing barriers to participation and ensuring that girls can continue attending our Sports for Development sessions, stay active, and fully engage in the opportunities available to them throughout the month.

Through this we are creating an environment where menstruation is no longer a barrier to participation, learning, or achieving potential. Youth Forum for National Transformation

As part of our safeguarding efforts our BILD Program Assistant Orpah Chisamba facilitated a Safeguarding session with a 40 participants drawn from our Clubs for Development (C4D) program. The session focused on child protection, rights , types and forms of abuse and reporting mechanisms. The session aimed at equipping participants with knowledge and confidence to recognize all forms of abuse and reporting them to the responsible persons. We are creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for everyone to fully participate and contribute in all activities.

Today our Executive Director and Finance Manager are hard at work reviewing and preparing our 1 October 2026 – 30 September 2027 organisational budget as we plan ahead for the next financial year. At a time when the funding space continues to shrink, it is more important than ever for organisations like ours to remain proactive, strategic and prepared. A strong and effective budget is not just about numbers, it is about ensuring that we can continue delivering impactful programs, supporting our communities and creating opportunities for young people across Malawi, even within a challenging economic environment.
Through careful planning and responsible financial management, we are positioning ourselves to effectively implement our operations and program activities both now and into the future.
Every budget discussion today is part of building a stronger, more sustainable tomorrow for the communities we serve. πŸ’™πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό

A proud moment for Bhubesi Pride Foundation - Malawi NGO as our Safeguarding Lead travels to Cape Town, South Africa to attend the Safe Sport Conference. This is more than just conference participation. It is an important opportunity for our organisation to contribute to global conversations on safeguarding in sport and strengthen our commitment to creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for every child and young person we work with. By engaging with international experts and learning from global best practices, we continue to strengthen the implementation of Global Safeguarding Standards across our programs, ensuring that the wellbeing, protection and dignity of our participants remain at the centre of everything we do. At Bhubesi Pride Foundation - Malawi NGO, safeguarding is not just a policy, it is a responsibility and a promise to the communities we serve. πŸŒβš½πŸ›‘οΈ

Our Idea to Impact Volunteer group has been hard at work today at the BPF Mtema Sports and Education Community Centre Demonstration Garden alongside our Ground Labourers, supporting the sowing of tomato seeds in the garden beds. πŸŒ±πŸ…
This is more than just gardening. The tomatoes grown will help generate income through sales, directly supporting the organisation’s operations and sustainability. At the same time, the demonstration garden continues to provide young people and community members with practical learning opportunities on how to grow crops within their own communities.
Through activities like this, we are promoting sustainable food security, hands-on learning, and empowering young people with knowledge and skills that can create long-term impact across our communities.

Young people at the BPF Mtema Community Centre are spending today learning, sharing ideas and building skills for the future through a series of engaging activities led by our Idea to Impact Volunteer group.

More than 20 participants are taking part in sessions focused on entrepreneurship, communication & leadership, and talent identification. The activities are creating a safe space for young people to grow in confidence, discover their strengths and gain practical knowledge that can help them make a positive impact in their communities.

Bhubesi Pride Foundation - Malawi NGO, we believe that when young people are given opportunities to learn and develop, they are better prepared to create brighter futures for themselves and those around them. 🌍✨

What a week! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ”₯
This week, we had the privilege of hosting our valued partners Youth Sport Trust International during their BILD monitoring visit. From school visits and festival activities to Local Trainers trainings and meetings with headteachers and government officials, it was inspiring to witness the impact of the program firsthand. One of the biggest highlights has been seeing how the program is positively contributing to school enrolment, attendance and engaging learning through safe play environments for young people across Malawi. We are proud to continue strengthening this impactful partnership with Youth Sport Trust International through the BILD program delivered in partnership with Bhubesi Pride Foundation - Malawi NGO.

Today at Bhubesi Pride Foundation, we’re turning conversation into action. Through our Achinyamata Tikambilane program, and in partnership with Youth Forum for National Transformation we are hosting a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) outreach clinic at the BPF Mtema Sports and Education Community Centre. Young people from the surrounding communities are accessing essential services, receiving accurate information, and getting the support and medication they need to make informed decisions about their health. This is what impact looks like meeting young people where they are, removing barriers, and ensuring no one is left behind. With support from the Mercury Phoenix Trust we are proud to continue creating safe spaces where young people can learn, ask questions, and take charge of their wellbeing. If you are near the BPF Mtema Sports and Education Community Centre, come through and access these services. Your health matters.
