Malawi Coalition for Kabaza Stakeholders and Association (MACOKASA) says so far 15,000 motorbike operators in the country have registered their motorcycles with the department of Road Traffic and they expect to register more by December.

‎National Chairperson for MACOKASA, Moses Mwalabu made the sentiments today in Mzuzu during a road demonstration of motorcycles that the organization organised.

‎Concurring with Mwalabu, Road Safety Alert Foundation, Road Safety Alert Foundation Executive Director, Joel Jere, says motorcycle operators must be sensitized on the benefits of using a licensed motorcycle and wearing a helmet, while following road safety rules and regulations saying this will help reduce road accidents.
Sensitisation was carried out in corroboration with Malawi police, Road Traffic Directorates,Mzuzu City council, MRA, ROSAF, and MACOKASA

Kabaza Customers Speak Up for Safety! 🛵⚠️

On 25 June in Lilongwe and 27 June in Zomba, the Road Safety Alert Foundation held a special awareness campaign for Kabaza (motorcycle taxi) customers.

With support from the Malawi Police, DRTSS, and MACOKASA, the campaign taught passengers that they have the right to say NO!
❌ No riding without a helmet
❌ No riding on unroadworthy bikes
❌ No unlicensed riders allowed at the ranks

This is part of a bigger plan to make roads safer across Malawi. Lilongwe and Zomba were just the beginning — Blantyre and Mzuzu are next!

Your safety is your right. Speak up, stay safe.

🚨 DON'T LET DISTRACTION CRASH YOUR LIFE! 🚨

Using your phone while driving or riding is a recipe for disaster!

1. : Distracted driving can lead to crashes, injuries, and even fatalities. 🚗💥

2. : Phone use slows down your reaction time, making it harder to respond to unexpected situations. ⏱️

3. : Taking your eyes off the road can cause you to lose control of your vehicle. 🚗😬

4. : Distracted drivers may not notice traffic lights or stops, leading to rear-end collisions. 🚨

5. : Phone use can put vulnerable road users, like pedestrians and cyclists, in harm's way. 🚶‍♂️🚴‍♂️

6. : Crashes caused by distracted driving can result in costly repairs. 🚗💸

7. : Being involved in an accident can cause long-lasting emotional distress. 💔

8. : Distracted driving due to use of phone in Malawi can lead to fines, license suspension, or even jail time. 🚔

PARK THE PHONE, BEFORE YOU DRIVE! 🙏
