Ending Gender-Based Violence & Promoting Equality
MEI LUANAR Chapter stands against gender based violence (GBV)!
As we observe the 16 Days of Activism, the MEI LUANAR Chapter reaffirms its commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
Gender-Based Violence has NO place in our community.
We must actively work to end GBV in all its forms whether it is cyber harassment, physical abuse, emotional manipulation, or verbal discrimination.
GBV in unequally balanced fields:
~The engineering and technological sectors, often characterized by gender imbalance, can sometimes be environments where subtle or overt forms of GBV thrive. We believe this is unacceptable.
Our commitment to prevention:
~ Promote Respectful Communication: Encourage and model respectful, professional, and inclusive language at all chapter events and interactions, online and in person.
Fostering allyship:
~Educate male members to be effective allies in identifying and calling out non-physical forms of GBV, such as verbal dismissal or harassment.
Support and visibility:
~Increase the visibility and participation of female engineers within the chapter to create a culture of equality and demonstrate that women can lead and contribute with equal effectiveness.
Let's collectively create a chapter and a future profession where every member, regardless of gender, feels safe, respected, and empowered to succeed.
Speak out. Listen. Act.
