The NRC Environmental Club is honored to have had our Secretary (Luckia Tambula) represent us at the launch of the Mzinda Energy Justice Action Project, held at Chimwasongwe Primary School in Lilongwe.

This initiative led by Mthunzi Trust with support from ACT Ubumbano is a powerful example of what collective action can achieve. Local leaders, youth groups, civil society, and schools gathered to confront urgent issues: the devastating effects of deforestation, the health toll of charcoal use, and the growing threat of climate change to local agriculture.

Our Secretary's participation at this launch reaffirmed our club's belief in the power of youth-driven advocacy. We are convinced that lasting sustainability begins when communities are empowered to lead, identify, and shape solutions to the challenges they face daily.

As a club, we look forward to following the project's progress in Chimwasongwe and applying the insights gained to strengthen our own environmental work at school and beyond. Congratulations to Mthunzi Trust and Ambassadors Charity Trust Ubumbano for this important step forward!

We're Excited to Announce a New Partnership! ๐Ÿค

The NRC Environment Club is delighted to partner with Mthunzi Trust in implementing the Mzinda Energy Justice Action Project.

Through this collaboration, we will support community awareness on energy justice, sustainable cooking practices, environmental conservation and climate action while encouraging meaningful youth participation in creating lasting environmental solutions.

NRC Environmental Club had the privilege of participating in the African Climate Alliance Youth Just Transition Workshop in Lilongwe on 11 July 2026, held at African Bible College. The workshop brought passionate young people committed to shaping a just, inclusive, and sustainable future.

Our Club Secretary LUKIA TAMBULA delivered a presentation on the African Climate Alliance Ambassador Programme. She briefly explained what it means to be an Ambassador and how you can be part of it. She emphasized that, this program is not only about learning, but it's also about leading the change you want to see in your community as a youth. Her talk energized the room and clearly showed the power of youth taking ownership of this work.

The key take away as a club, was that a Just Transition is about more than shifting to clean energy, it's about equity, inclusion, and shared opportunities.

Climate solutions are most effective when they create decent jobs, protect livelihoods, and ensure young people have a meaningful voice in decision-making.

A heartfelt thank you to the African Climate Alliance & Field Officers for creating such an empowering platform and for investing in the next generation of climate leaders.

The future of climate action is youth-led, and the future starts now.
