A mother. Her "sick child." And 5 kilometers of impossible distance. 🥺

She isn't angry—she's broken. Watching her child suffer without answers is a pain no mother should carry. But in that moment of deep despair, TMF showed up.

At TMF, reaching rural and hard-to-reach communities in Malawi with healthcare isn't a solo journey. It takes all of us.

In this photo, we're right where we need to be—doing community health spot-checks with our partners. Why? To improve service delivery, you listen to local voices, and make sure no one is left behind.

Clinical consultations taking place right in TMF supported communities.

Prior to TMF formation, seeing a Clinical Officer meant walking hours to a static clinic – if you could make it at all.

Now? The clinic comes to you.

First, TMF check your vitals: blood pressure, temperature and weight. Then you sit face‑to‑face with a Clinical Officer who listens to your story, examines you, and gives you a real plan – medicines or a test if needed.

That's dignity. That's healthcare.

Last weekend, Leonie Bell from Australia visited our health facility which is currently under construction. She connected with the incredible women in our support group for people living with HIV—women who are redefining what’s possible.

What does the support group do?
✨ Tackling stigma issues.
🧠 Providing psychological support
💊Ensuring treatment adherence
🌱 Building livelihoods

This we do so women can stand on their own.

The work is deep. The change is real.

Why Support Groups Matter?

For people living with HIV in rural areas, long distances to a health facility and long queues often lead to missed appointments. It’s never about lack of care—it’s about access.

At TMF, we’re changing that by working with support groups to bring healthcare closer to home.
The result? Members save time and money, never miss a clinic appointment, and are adherent to HIV treatment ✅💊

More importantly no one carries their HIV burden alone. Through shared strength and encouragement, members find peace, motivation, and hope. ❤️

For the mother who carries it all.💚

To the world, it looks like mothers waiting for their kids to get treated. And they are. But for many of these women in remote villages, this mobile outreach clinic is the only chance they get monthly to see a doctor for themselves.

They carry the weight of their families literally on their backs while neglecting their own health. But nowadays, because of TMF, they don't have to choose.

TMF is bringing healthcare to the hard to reach areas. We are treating the children at their backs and the mothers who carry them. Because a healthy family/ community starts with a healthy mom.

WE GO FAR SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL

There is a child in a hard-to-reach village who needs us. The road is rough. The sun is hot or the weather is cold. But TMF never turns back.

Why? Because for that child, a 30-second MUAC check could be the difference between a healthy future and a tragic one.

We carry our scales, our medicines, and our MUAC tapes into the rural and hard to reach communities . We find the quiet children. We find the tired mothers. We check for the warning signs of malnutrition that are invisible to the untrained eye.

Sometimes we find children in the yellow zone. We intervene early, and they recover at home.
Sometimes we find children in the red zone. We stabilize them on the spot.

We do this because every child, no matter how far they live, deserves to be in the GREEN.

Every person has a name, every name has a story📝

At Tigwirane Manja Foundation, we make it a priority to register every single client who walks through our mobile clinic.

Why? Because we don’t just want to count numbers—we want to support them beyond a clinic day but also count impact.

By tracking who we serve in these rural and hard to reach communities, we learn where the greatest needs are. This helps us bring better services and better hope next time we visit.
