Last Saturday, we were honored to welcome representatives from ๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐„๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐€๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค (๐€๐ˆ๐ƒ๐ . Their visit was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when communities and partners work together toward a shared vision.

Together, we visited one of our Mobile Outreach Clinics-Lumbwira , located 19 kilometres from Lumbazi Health Centre, where families are receiving essential healthcare services closer to home. For many, these outreach clinics mean the difference between receiving timely care and going without it.

The delegation also toured the Mvugo Health Facility construction site and witnessed the exciting progress toward a health facility that will bring lifesaving services within reach of thousands of people in surrounding communities.

For Linesi, a mother of three from Thandaza Village in Lilongwe North West, seeking healthcare during pregnancy once meant an impossible choice. Every visit to the nearest health facility cost an estimated US$5 in transport aloneโ€”a staggering expense for a family living on less than US$1 a day. The high cost often meant delaying or missing essential healthcare.

Everything changed when Tigwirane Manja Foundation (TMF) introduced a monthly mobile outreach clinic in her community. Instead of making repeated costly trips, Linesi received regular antenatal care close to home, delivered her baby safely at a health facility, and continues to access under-five services and family planning through the outreach clinic.

For families like Linesi's, bringing healthcare closer is more than a convenience, it removes one of the biggest barriers to lifesaving care. A journey that once cost US$5 per visit is now replaced by care within walking distance, giving mothers and children a better chance to survive and thrive

This week, our mobile outreach team set up right in the heart of Thandaza. Mothers lined up patiently, babies were weighed, notes were taken, and questions were answered โ€” all without anyone having to travel hours to reach a clinic.

This is what "Tigwirane Manja" (Holding hands) means to us: reaching where the road doesn't always go, and meeting people exactly where they are.

To every mother who walked with her child to be here โ€” thank you for trusting us. To our health workers who turn a tree, a scale, and a notebook into a full clinic โ€” you are the heartbeat of this work.

Healthcare shouldn't depend on how far you live from a hospital. At Tigwirane Manja Foundation, we're working to close that gap, one village at a time. ๐Ÿค

Tigwirane Manja Foundation (TMF) is a local nonprofit in Malawi which is on a mission to improve access to healthcare services in rural and hard to reach communities of Malawi.
TMF is improving access to healthcare in marginalized communities through two pathways:
โ€ข By taking healthcare services closer to people through medical mobile outreach clinics.
โ€ข By mobilizing the ultra-poor in marginalized communities to form cooperatives and support groups for them to embark on sustainable livelihoods. Disposable incomes generated from the livelihood ventures are used for members to access healthcare.
TMF is looking for a team member with experience in community nursing as well as ART.

โ€ข Helping with coordination and management of TMF Mobile Outreach Clinics.
โ€ข Conduct health education sessions on topics such as nutrition, family planning, ART and disease prevention.
โ€ข Collaborate with local health workers, social services, and community leaders to coordinate a community HIV/AIDS Program.
โ€ข Tracking ART defaulters and maintaining their accurate records through Treatment Supporters.
โ€ข Ensure timely follow-up visits of HIV exposed infants.
โ€ข Day to day supervision of Treatment Supporters.

โ€ข Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
โ€ข Registered Nurse qualification with a valid practicing license.
โ€ข At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community or primary healthcare settings.
โ€ข Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with diverse groups.
โ€ข A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently in the field.
โ€ข Commitment to patient dignity, confidentiality, and culturally sensitive care.
โ€ข Proficiency in digital tools and computer applications, including online collaboration platforms.
