It is clueless UTM cadres and the notorious DPP cadets who cried the loudest, more than family members, demanding an impartial investigative report on the fatal plane accident which brought down Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others to their deaths on that rainy, stormy and foggy 10 June, 2025 in the thick of Chikangawa forest at Nthungwa in Nkhata Bay yet they are now behaving as if the report has not come out; deafening silence.
We need the same energy these UTM dudes and their DPP counterparts had in demanding the swift accident report from the fatal plane manufacturers, BFU, be rekindled now in telling Malawians the contents of the elaborate report which was made public yesterday.
These UTM and DPP idiots cried the loudest more than family members of the victims of the fateful plane accident.
It is very unfortunate that some family members were even swayed by the UTM and DPP propagandists on the cause of the plane accident, despite the Inquiry of Commission on the plane accident report which parried away in fears of foul play in the accident.
It is unfortunate that some Catholic bishops and other clergy fell prey to the opposition propaganda against the Chakwera administration on the fatal plane accident, probably the worst in the history of the country in living memory.
President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera should be applauded for remaining calm, composed and focused as the opposition took turns to bring him into the political muddy waters over the accident.
I vividly remember President Dr Chakwera's charming mature response to the opposition stupid, senseless, silly and reckless conspiracy theory on the accident, "olira samutseka pakamwa."
Now that President Dr Chakwera and his administration have been vilified and exonerated on the plane crash accident conspiracy theories, the country should move on.

This chapter is now closed, we need to move on as a nation.

RBM TRANSACTIONS AS ESTABLISHED IN THE AUDIT

At the Reserve Bank of Malawi between January 1 2019 and June 30 June 2020:

• Mulli Brothers Limited (MBL) was IRREGULARLY issued with letters of credit to or supply fertiliser to the Government of Malawi.

• One company, Mitra, was awarded two contracts of K1 billion and K757 million CONTRARY TO RBM POLICY.
Mitra was also irregularly paid 60% upfront

• K9.7 billion was siphoned in January 2020 through dubious purchase of overpriced materials for the Prisons Department worth US$18 million from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

• K2.2 billion went out for “building maintenance, rentals, school fees allowances, recall of diplomats” BUT THERE ARE NO SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR THESE TRANSACTIONS.

• K4.1 billion paid to the Pensions and Gratuity Account without an approved funding instruction from government.
FDH Bank is connected to this.

• K6.5 billion went to FDH Bank in December 2018 and December 2020, WHICH AUDITORS FOUND SUSPICIOUS.

• K3.9 billion costs payable to FDH Bank that were NOT DISCLOSED TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL.

• USD$769 million was disproportionally channelled through FDH Bank.

• K27 billion was paid to top managers who are retiring, WHO IN TURN PROVIDED K7 BILLION to the then governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

• K2.8 billion paid to various law firms, BUT AUDITORS DID NOT TRACE ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

One of the whistle blowers Maxwell Ng’ambi aptly captures it thus:

“At exactly, 1 am on 27th June 2020 – K4.3 billion had sprint from Central Bank into FDH – all of us were snoring and fast asleep but hard worker Dalitso Kabambe and team were awake.

They had a job to do as patriotic Malawians.

The transaction could not wait for daytime or after Justice Chifundo Kachale’s announcement that Lazarus Chakwera was new President later on the same day.”

HE IS LIKELY TO CHOOSE A YES BWANA RUNNING MATE WITH NO PROPER EDUCATION LIKE AFRAID GANGATA M'NYAMATA WA FOMU FOMU..

For choosing CHIMULIRENJI in 2019 is the proof that Mutharika has no best interests for Malawi, just selfish interest.

He chose CHIMULIRENJI as his successor in the Malawi president seat if he dies in office or something.

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has two choices on the table:: it is either Speaker Gotani Hara or Minister Vitumbiko Mumba, (both from Mzimba)to be his running mate.

Dr Dalitso Kabambe has only one choice, Dr Mathews Mtumbuka (Rumphi )who has so far become his top surrogate

Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has many options on the table: He may pick Enoch Chihana (Rumphi), Jappie Mhango(Rumphi), Walter Nyamilandu Manda (Nkhatabay )but don't forget that he has tendency of going outside the politics at times, he may hook people like Dr Khwima Nthara ( Mzimba )top economic guru with IMF a close ally to late Goodal Gondwe.

Some points to consider when picking a running mate!

Livingstonia Synod is more into opposition apart from GS but the entire clergy machinery is no longer supporting ruling party

Catholic church is obvious. Infact we know who is leading the catholic church now.

Traditional Authorities.. Mbelwa, Kyungu, Chikulamayembe have limited say in today's politics because people have realized that chiefs go where money is..

But lastly, the people of north are very bitter with the death of SKC. How he died. Remember SKC married in the North to be specific from Mzimba. So both wife and him were/ are Ngoni people.
