HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
WOMEN are powerful agents of change when they are given the space, knowledge, and support to lead.

women continue to raise their voices, engage community leaders, and advocate for their rights, especially around sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and ending child marriages.

Across communities, women organize dialogues, share knowledge, and influence decisions that affect their lives and futures.

When women lead, communities transform. Give to Gain

Along the shores of Lake Chirwa, life depends on the lake, its waters feed families, sustain livelihoods, and connect communities. But beneath the calm waves, hidden challenges have affected the lives of many women and children.

For years, issues of child labour and exploitative practices such as “fish-for-sex” have threatened the safety, dignity, and future of young girls and boys. Yet, hope is rising.

Today, men and boys are taking a stand, becoming champions for change, and joining the fight to end sexual and gender-based violence. Fishermen, once silent witnesses, are now powerful voices advocating for safe, equal, and just communities.

Together, they are proving that true strength is not in silence, but in standing up for what is right. By rejecting exploitation and embracing equality, these communities are shaping a future where every child learns, every woman is respected, and every fisherman casts his net with pride and dignity.

This is the story of transformation, of men, boys, and communities coming together to protect their lake, their livelihoods, and their people.
