🚨 CALL FOR ACTION & SUPPORT 🚨
Youth Corner Malawi is making an urgent appeal to all organizations, institutions, development partners, churches, well-wishers, mental health professionals, and community leaders to join hands with us in responding to the growing mental health crisis affecting young people in Mtandile, Piyasani, and Mwenera communities ,lilongwe.
From January to May this year alone, 12 mental health related deaths have been recorded across these communities. This is a painful reminder that many young people are silently struggling with stress, depression, trauma, substance abuse, unemployment, and lack of psychosocial support.
In response, Youth Corner Malawi will conduct Youth Mental Health Trainings from 24th – 26th June 2026 in Lilongwe – Area 56, aimed at:
👉 Raising mental health awareness
👉 Promoting peer support and counseling
👉 Encouraging open conversations on mental wellness
👉Strengthening community response systems
👉 Preventing further loss of lives among young people.
We cannot do this alone😭
We are therefore calling upon:
• NGOs and CSOs
• Government institutions
• Health professionals and counselors
• Corporate companies
• Faith-based organizations
• Media houses
• Donors and well-wishers
to support this important initiative through:
🔹 Financial contributions
🔹 Training materials
🔹 Refreshments and logistics
🔹 Mental health expertise and facilitation
🔹 Awareness partnerships and media coverage
Together, we can save lives, restore hope, and build stronger communities where every young person feels heard, supported, and valued.
📍 Communities: Mtandile, Piyasani & Mwenera
📅 Training Dates: 24 – 26 June 2026
📌 Venue: Lilongwe – Area 56
