Today I was privileged to have an interview with Chimwemwe Padatha DW Correspondence who was interested with some interventions that am currently doing.

I still emphasized on the need of allowing children’s Voice on Environment to be heard. I represent many Malawian children who are being left behind! Who are not given chance and space on issues of environmental conservation, care and protection.

Thank you so much FRABS Media Consultancy for getting in touch with Uncle Chimwemwe and coordinating everything from Lilongwe to Ntcheu. Many thanks to my Dad for giving out a consent for Uncle Chimwemwe and Uncle Abraham Bisayi to come and record me.

Little Tabbie’s Voice on the Environment is an initiative to promote children and young people, to champion climate and environmental solutions; and advocate for child -sensitive policies, plans and legislations to enable them influence and accelerate climate actions.

It was founded in March, 2023 by Tabitha Malata, a 10 year –old girl who felt that children ,despite their vulnerability to the extreme impact of climate change, are less engaged in the care of the environment and mitigation of the impact of environmental degradation. She resorted to transforming Plastic bags into containers for planting various crops with aim of contributing towards the offset of green gases in the atmosphere.

The Vision of Little Tabbie’s Voice on the Environment is , “children irrespective of their social, economic, cultural or other status empowered to add their voices in the environmental space and accelerate climate action”. To actualize this vision, Little Tabbie’s Voice on the Environment holds the firm belief that “ the children’s right to be heard on matters that impact them ,as provided in the Convention on the Right of child, should be extended to climate and environmental matters” and engages all critical stakeholders in promoting for children –inclusion and participation.
