Our MEAL, Finance, and Programs Officers participated in outcome harvesting and small-group discussions to ensure our work under the Civil Society Strengthening Fund remains adaptive and impactful. 😊😊Strengthening Capacities for Early Childhood Development Coalition Members in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Communication

From 11th to 12th February 2026, the Early Childhood Development Coalition (ECDC) of Malawi successfully convened a two-day training workshop on Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Communication at Pottery Lodge in Dedza.

This vital capacity-strengthening initiative was made possible through the Comic Relief and UK Aid Shifting the Power Programme, implemented by the Tilitonse Foundation in partnership with Comic Relief and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). We extend our sincere gratitude to these partners for their generous support, which enables us to invest in the skills of those working on the frontlines of Early Childhood Development in Malawi.

The training brought together 31 dedicated participants, comprising ECDC staff and representatives from our esteemed member organizations, including:
Future for All
Sparkle Foundation
Livingstonia Synod – ECD Department
FEDOMA (Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi)
DAPP Malawi
Youth for Development and Productivity
And many others committed to nurturing our nation's future.

For the two days, participants engaged deeply in:
✅ Developing robust M&E Plans and Frameworks to strengthen programme design and accountability.
✅ Mastering data analysis techniques to generate meaningful insights for decision-making.
✅ Crafting compelling, evidence-based donor reports and success stories to effectively communicate impact.

We are confident that the enhanced skills gained will directly improve how the ECD Coalition and its members monitor programmes, measure impact, and communicate the incredible work being done for children aged 0–8 across Malawi.

🌟 ECD Coalition Engages DPP National Executive Committee on ECD Manifesto Implementation 🌟

On November 28, 2025, the ECD Coalition Malawi successfully organized an engagement meeting with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Executive Committee at Crossroads Hotel, Lilongwe. This initiative aimed to elevate the visibility of Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs and address key issues affecting children's development in Malawi.

Under the theme “Professionalization and Financing of ECD in Malawi,” we focused on crucial objectives, including:

✔️ Engaging with the DPP to assess ECD-related challenges and opportunities.
✔️ Reviewing the DPP manifesto on ECD to strengthen policies and initiatives.
✔️ Establishing collaborative relationships to advance ECD efforts.

The meeting featured valuable insights from high-profile speakers, including the Presidential Advisor on Manifesto Implementation, who emphasized the importance of integrating ECD into government strategies.

Together, we are committed to enhancing access and quality in early childhood services, paving the way for a brighter future for our children!

🌟 Exciting News for Malawi's Children! 🌟

On 2nd December 2025, the Early Childhood Development Coalition (ECDC) actively participated and supported the press briefing for the launch of the National Children’s Commission (NCC) at the NCC Secretariat boardroom. We are thrilled to announce that the NCC will officially launch on 6th December at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe!

🎉 Exciting Collaboration in Action! 🎉
On November 26, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM, we welcomed the Tilitonse Foundation team comprising two grant officers and an accounts assistant at the Early Childhood Development Coalition.

Their visit aimed to appreciate our work under the Civil Society Strengthen Fund project, part of the Shifting the Power Programme, implemented in partnership with Comic Relief and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (UKAID). We discussed our capacity development plan, shared progress, achievements, challenges and their solutions, and exchanged key lessons to enhance future programming and strengthen our partnership.

We are grateful for this collaboration and excited about our shared commitment to uplifting children from conception to 8 years. 🌱👶
