As one way of trying to solve some of the problems in the Malawi's primary schools, Five Stars Travel + Community an arm of the social enterprise established in 2024 has always been there to mobilize resources from "Your Journey, Their Hope Project" by Five Stars Travel. It is our responsibility to support education as most of the primary schools in Malawi are in a bad state. We have targeted one of the schools in Area 49 proper Lilongwe, Mkomachi Primary school that for a long time is not able to provide good services to the learners. Challenges affecting the school include: lack of desks from std 1-7 (students literally sit on the floor during classes), lack of learning materials such as chalk, textbooks, good blackboard, the classrooms are even congested as there are few school blocks. During examination, students sit outside to write exams as there is no space in the classrooms. There is no fence that is putting the lives of the children at risk of accidents and other preventable accidents.
We are trying our best to solve these problems. Fundraising through the provision of our travel services such as tours is one of the first activities that we believe would help to find the learning materials for the next terms at the school. We have organized an excursion on 22 August 2026 which is called Lilongwe City Tour. We are calling everyone to join hands so that we address these challenges together.
