🙏🕊️ The year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of Father Jacques SEVIN’s return “Home”, following his death in Boran-sur-Oise (63 km from Paris, France) on July 19, 1951.

To commemorate this anniversary and prepare for the event, the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem, who live the Scout spirituality, invite you to send your testimony related to Father SEVIN. 🏕️⚜️

• What message from him do you wish to pass on to young people?

Last weekend, the Lilongwe Archdiocese Scouts conducted a successful Scout Basic Skills Training at St. Denis Parish. Young people were introduced to important scouting skills such as the Scout Promise and Law, safeguarding, camping and prayer services while also growing spiritually through prayers and reflections.

The training helped participants build leadership, friendship, and the spirit of service to God and the community. We were also joined by young people from Likuni Parish who are interested in being part of the Catholic scouting movement.

Yesterday, Scout leaders from different parishes gathered at St Patrick’s Parish (Area 18) for a training session on resource mobilisation and basic first aid. During the session, leaders were equipped with technical knowledge on fundraising, mapping, and engaging with stakeholders. They were also guided on how to assess community needs and identify what Scouting can offer in response to those needs.

Later in the day, a basic first aid session was conducted, which proved highly valuable for Scout leaders in managing their groups and ensuring safety during outdoor activities. The facilitator emphasised that everyone has a role to play in saving lives, and that the worst response in an emergency is to do nothing.

This message strongly reflects the values of Catholic Scouting, which call on members to serve their communities wholeheartedly and be prepared to respond in times of need.

Last Sunday, Lilongwe Archdiocese Catholic Scouting conducted a Nature Walk at Lilongwe Wildlife Trust. It was not just an ordinary walk but a moment of reflection and appreciating the good things created by God and how best we can take care of it. Scouts also shared their leadership experiences especially on challenges faced and relevant solutions.
