Yesterday we officially wrapped up the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, under this year’s theme:
🔸 UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls.

Throughout this period, CECOYD organisation through its dedicated peer Civic educators have been actively on the ground, engaging communities, raising awareness, and educating young people and families on the importance of ending GBV in all its forms including the rising challenge of online abuse and digital violence.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all partners, community leaders, youth groups, and every individual who joined us in championing a safer, more inclusive society.

The campaign may have ended, but our commitment to protecting women and girls both offline and online continues. Together, we can create lasting change.

Building a Brighter Future for Malawi’s Youth.

On 9th November 2025, the Centre for Concerned Youth in Development (CECOYD), in partnership with Child Legacy International and SunHawk Energy International, successfully carried out a school materials and groceries distribution exercise under the Youth Empowerment through Supportive Education (YESE) Project.

The event was a celebration of hope and progress a reflection of how strategic partnerships can make a lasting impact in the lives of young people.

To bridge the digital gap and support academic excellence, students from various universities and colleges received brand new laptops and smartphones. These tools will help them access online resources, complete assignments efficiently, and stay connected to opportunities for innovation and learning. In addition, younger learners received exercise books, groceries, and other essential school materials. These items will not only improve their learning experience but also ease the financial burden on their families ensuring that education remains a source of joy and empowerment.

The YESE Project continues to go beyond short-term interventions by paying tuition fees, providing upkeep allowances, and offering capacity-building opportunities to sons and daughters under the program. This approach is helping shape responsible, educated, and self-reliant future leaders.

This project is implemented by the Centre for Concerned Youth in Development (CECOYD), with generous support from SunHawk Energy International and technical expertise from Child Legacy International.
