The Zanani Foundation has partnered the Mary Waya Netball Academy and the Malawi Assemblies of God University (Magu) to roll out the 'Machitachita ndi Netball' initiative aimed at empowering the youths with structured netball training and mentorship.

The foundation's director Jacqueline Haynes says the initiative will be launch later this month.

"This initiative aims to nurture talent, provide career guidance, promote healthy lifestyles and inspire team work amongst the youth. We plan to implement this program from March to July this year in Chiwamba Extension Planning Area [EPA] in Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe," she says.

Haynes says the initiative targets 120 girls between the ages of 12 and 20.

The organisers have since called for support from various stakeholders towards the successful implementation of the program.
