The agreement facilitates business training and supports the enrolment of OWIT members at the university.

Unicaf University Chief Operations Officer, Chrissie Kafoteka, described the partnership as a timely intervention for OWIT members, adding that it will provide much-needed knowledge on value addition across various products.

OWIT President, Barbara Banda, said the agreement seeks to strengthen business knowledge among women.

SEED FUND AWARDS🏆💵

Women entrepreneurs continue to break barriers and redefine business success in Malawi, as three outstanding innovators secured seed funding to scale their ventures through a competitive pitch platform

A big congratulations to Emmie Kumbikano, Emily Mandala and Susan Mkangama om emerging winners of the seed funding pitch contest organised by the Organisation of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Lilongwe Chapter.

The competition which aims to empower women entrepreneurs, awarded each winner with K2 million to support and grow their businesses.

Speaking at the event, OWIT Lilongwe Chapter President Barbara Banda said the initiative overall focuses on strengthening and improving women led businesses financially while promoting collaboration, business registration and branding and hopes that the funding will go a long way in helping these businesses grow.

One of the winners, Emmie Kumbikano Managing Director at Agripioneer Inc which sells mushrooms, said the funding will help her buy a steriliser and humidifier which will allow the company to produce its own mushroom seeds instead of waiting long periods to access them and also increase the production of mushrooms overall.
