District Community Development Officer under the Ministry of Gender, Jonathan Chautsi, has urged girls to actively participate in the various initiatives being implemented by Maikhanda Trust in the area.

He commended the positive impact the project has had on girls, describing it as a step in the right direction.

Chautsi also advised girls to resist negative peer pressure that could lead them to drop out of school, emphasizing that education is vital in all aspects of life.

He further thanked parents and guardians for their involvement in the activities and for ensuring that girls are being guided and trained in the right way.

Today, Spot on Kalikonse Tikadziwe is participating in the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) meeting, which has commenced in Lilongwe.

The one-day meeting, held under the theme “Building Sustainable Youth Engagement”, is organized by Farm Radio Trust in collaboration with Farm Radio International, Maikhanda Trust, FAWEMA, Banja La Mtsogolo, VIAMO and Ministry of Youth and sports under the iHeard Project, funded by Global Affairs Canada.

The gathering aims to share updates on project successes, challenges, and recommendations that will strengthen the effectiveness of YAC members in their work.
