📢 KALOLO YOUTH NETWORK – AGCOM GRANT UPDATE

We, the Kalolo Youth Network, would like to inform you that our application for the AGCOM Grant has made significant progress.

Current Status:

✅ Phase 1 Assessment – Successfully completed
✅ Phase 2 Assessment – Conducted today and went very well
🔜 Phase 3 (Final Phase) – About to be completed

The total grant amount we are competing for is K180,000,000. Once approved, we intend to use these funds to implement the following initiatives:

✨ Youth Empowerment Projects, including:

Establishing small-scale youth-led businesses

Providing skills training for young people

Supporting community activities that promote economic growth in Kalolo

Creating opportunities for unemployed youth to become self-reliant

However, to qualify for this grant, our Youth Network is required to contribute 10% of the total grant amount, which is a key requirement for AGCOM’s approval.

✨ For this reason, we are kindly appealing to our partners, friends, members, and all well-wishers to assist us in raising this 10% contribution.

Any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Once this grant is secured, it will transform the lives of many young people in Kalolo by creating jobs, helping youth start businesses, and providing important knowledge and skills for their future.

Thank you very much!

*Empowering Futures: Youths Shine After Electrical Installation Training*🌟

At Kalolo Youth Network, we believe that the power to change lives lies in skills, opportunity, and determination. Today, we are proud to celebrate a major milestone in our journey of youth empowerment!

Recently, several young men and women from our community successfully completed a comprehensive electrical installation training offered through our vocational skills program. These were not just lessons in wiring and circuits—but lessons in hope, self-reliance, and economic transformation.

💡 *From Learning to Earning*
Just weeks after completing the training, some of the graduates have already begun putting their skills into action. From installing electrical systems in homes and shops to helping their communities with reliable energy solutions, they are now earning a steady income, supporting their families, and restoring their dignity with every job they complete.

💬 "I never thought I would be able to earn my own money this soon," shared one of the proud trainees. *"Thanks to Kalolo Youth Network, I now have a skill that puts food on the table and gives me confidence for the future."*

👷🏽‍♀️ *Impact Beyond the Individual*
This transformation doesn't end with the individual. It creates ripples:

Families now have extra income to buy food, pay school fees, and meet basic needs.

The community has access to skilled youth ready to provide affordable and quality services.

The local economy grows as more youth become productive and independent.

🎯 *A Step Towards Ending Unemployment*
At a time when job opportunities are scarce, Kalolo Youth Network is proving that vocational skills are a powerful tool for change. We are turning potential into productivity—one young person at a time.

🙏 To our partners, supporters, and community members—thank you! Your continued encouragement and belief in youth empowerment is what fuels this success.

📢 Let’s keep the momentum going. Share this story to inspire others and show the world what happens when youth are given the tools to thrive.

VOTE OF THANKS

On behalf of Friends of Traditional Authority Kalolo, Pastors Wives Association, Community Hope Initiative, and Kalolo Youth Network, I, Mapulanga Francisco Vitsitsi, Director of Community Hope Initiative, would like to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming support we received towards the successful hosting of the Youth Conference held on 28th June 2025 at Namitete Secondary School.

Organizing this conference was no small feat. With over 850 participants in attendance, we were initially overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of resources, coordination, and energy required. But when the burden seemed too heavy, God sent help through His people—and for that, we are truly grateful.

We wish to sincerely thank all those who came through in the final hour and stood with us to make the event not only possible but truly impactful.

In a very special way, we recognize and appreciate:

Hon. Edward Chileka Banda, Shadow MP for Mapuyu South

Hon. Kingsley Mayikalanga, Shadow MP for Mapuyu North

Hon. Catherine Gollen Majamanda, Shadow MP for Mapuyu South

Hon. Mc Andrews Mtanga Maunda, Shadow MP for Mapuyu North

Hon. Horace Chipuwa, MP for Mapuyu North

Your presence and contributions were not just a gesture of support, but a statement of hope and solidarity for the youth of our land.

We extend heartfelt appreciation to Alliance for Children Everywhere (ACE) for standing with us and for being part of the facilitation team. Your commitment to youth and child development is a shining light.

To Mrs. Lenata Chawinga, Coordinator of the Pastors Wives Association—your spiritual leadership and coordination played a vital role in mobilizing and guiding our efforts.

Special appreciation also goes to:

Dr. Misheck Munthali

Representatives from ACE

Myself, Mapulanga Francisco Vitsitsi
For your powerful facilitation and inspiration shared with the youth.

We are equally thankful to:

Feston Mbesa, Chairperson of Kalolo Youth Network, for his outstanding coordination of youth clubs across the area

Msundwe Graduates, for standing with us and encouraging fellow youths

Mr. Robert Kalemba, for his generous contribution and continued support

The Namitete Police, for ensuring security and order

All Aspiring Members of Parliament, for their solidarity

The DJ and Master of Ceremony, for keeping the energy alive

The Head Teacher and Staff of Namitete Secondary School, for your warm hospitality and support

Traditional Authority Dr Kalolo, for your continuous leadership and blessing

And most importantly, everyone who prayed for this event—we felt your prayers, and we saw God’s hand in every moment.

As we reflect on the success of this Conference, we are reminded that unity, faith, and community spirit can overcome even the toughest of challenges.

Let it also be known that a full event report will be compiled and shared with all our partners. This report will include detailed reflections, action points, and clear plans on how we move forward. This Youth Conference marks only the beginning of the transformation for the people of Kalolo.

We are excited to announce that we are already planning for the upcoming Women’s and Men’s Conferences, as part of our continued efforts to empower every group within our communities. Everyone will be engaged until something happens. Real change is coming—and together, we will make it a reality.

May God richly bless you all.

Thank you.
