Happy Monday!

Last week marked an immersive, insightful, and energetic training on Community-Driven Development (CDD) as we officially launched the FCAP Titikulane Project in Kasungu District through a Community-Based Facilitators (CBFs) training.

This first phase of the program brought together CBFs from 52 selected villages, laying a strong foundation for the scale-up of our work. Across these communities, approximately 2,935 households will participate in the project over a period of two years (24 months).

The training focused on equipping facilitators with the tools to guide communities through a participatory development process. This includes community-level goal setting, identifying and mapping local resources, selecting leadership structures, conducting socio-economic analyses, undertaking needs assessments, and ultimately designing development projects based on priorities identified by the communities themselves.
Following this process, SOFF will provide microgrants of MK 20,400,000 (Twenty Million, Four Hundred Thousand kwacha)to each of the 52 selected villages to support the implementation of their chosen initiatives.

The FCAP Titikulane Project is being implemented with funding support from Spark MicroGrants.

Today marks a major step in our journey of growth and impact! 🌱

After successfully implementing our programs in Lilongwe, we are proud to announce our expansion into Kasungu District through the FCAP Titukulane Project.

We held a Technical Working Group meeting with key stakeholders to provide updates on our programs and formally introduce our next implementation plans in the district.

This is more than expansion, it’s progress, collaboration, and a stronger commitment to serving vulnerable communities.

It’s Friday and we are ending the week on a high note! 🎉

We are proud to witness the pass-on of 31 goats in our FCAP Titukulane implementing village of Chibungo, TA Kalolo, Lilongwe. A total of 10 sub-groups (mailimana), each comprising 6 households, have received 4 goats each, while 17 goats remain in the communal sheds for future pass-on and sustainability.

We are also encouraged to witness great strides in gender equality, with women taking leadership roles in the groups and sharing project benefits equally.

Chibungo Village is among the 36 villages we have been working with in Lilongwe since 2022 through the , funded by Spark Migronts. The project provided microgrants of up to MK 17 million alongside community capacity-building, aimed at improving household livelihoods. SOFF leverages this platform to further strengthen community-led financing avenues for girls’ education.

Congratulations to Chibungo Village for achieving this important milestone; sharing benefits through the successful -on of , after a full year of communal rearing. This achievement reflects your resilience, strong project management, and unwavering commitment to the shared vision of the .
