Transforming classrooms through technology! 🚀

Today, our team had the privilege of conducting a shadow day at Mikuyu CDSS, one of our partnered schools under the Tech Bridges to Malawi Project.

Witnessing the learning process firsthand was incredibly inspiring. The integration of technology is completely reshaping the educational experience:

✨ High Engagement: Both teachers and students are fully utilizing and enjoying digital projectors to bring lessons to life.

📖 Active Learning: Watch this video to see students confidently reading English literature directly from the screen!

⏱️ Teaching Efficiency: Moving away from traditional chalkboards allows teachers to focus more on interactive, face-to-face instruction.

A huge thank you to the staff and students at Mikuyu CDSS for welcoming us. Seeing this direct impact fuels our mission to bridge the digital divide in Malawian education.

It is interesting to see how Mr. Sayenda is bringing English to life at Kachokolo CDSS, especially since the school was famously described as one of the most "ignored" and "struggling" schools in the past—it’s where William Kamkwamba, the "Boy Who Harnessed the Wind," was originally sent. Seeing a teacher there today using high-end laptops and digital resources is a powerful sign of how much has changed.The digital transformation in rural Malawi is no longer just a dream; it’s happening right now in the classroom. Watching Mr. Sayenda demonstrate how he uses these new resources to teach English shows the true impact of bridging the digital divide.

Empowering educators to lead the digital revolution in Malawi! 🇲🇼💻

On May 6, 2026, Tech Bridges to Malawi hosted an impactful IT Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session at Chimbowe CDSS. We were thrilled to welcome teachers from our 8 partnered schools across the Eastern Cluster for a day of deep-dive technical training and knowledge sharing.

The highlight of the day was seeing teachers showcase how they are transforming their classrooms using donated computers and powerful offline tools like Pezani and Xulendo and as well as online resources because we donated and installed Star-links to all our partnered schools. These resources are leveling the playing field, ensuring that even without constant internet access, students can explore a world of information.

Beyond the basics, we facilitated advanced IT workshops to ensure our partners have the technical confidence to maintain and maximize these digital assets for years to come.

Together, we aren't just donating hardware; we are building a sustainable ecosystem for digital literacy in rural Malawi.

Empowering the next generation starts with supporting our educators. 🚀
Last Friday, April 24th, Tech Bridges to Malawi successfully conducted a specialized CPD session at Santhe Secondary School. We were thrilled to host Computer Studies teachers and Headteachers from five schools across the K2 Southern Cluster.
Why include both teachers and leadership? Because sustainable digital transformation requires both technical skill in the classroom and strategic support from the top.
By equipping these educators with modern ICT tools and teaching strategies, we are ensuring that students across the cluster aren't just consumers of technology, but future creators of it.

Over the past 30 days, their hands-on leadership and generosity have sparked a true digital revolution in rural Malawi.During their visit, we didn't just "drop off" equipment; we built lasting infrastructure and empowered local communities. Together, the Tech Bridges To Malawi team and the Hardys achieved:🛰️ Connectivity: Donated and installed Starlink internet systems at several secondary schools, including Chilinda, Chulu, Mpapa, Simlemba, and Lojwa CDSS, breaking down the digital divide for thousands.☀️ Sustainable Power: Installed high-performance Lithium Solar Systems to ensure our new computer labs stay powered regardless of the grid.💻 Tools for Success: Delivered dozens of laptops to rural learners, many of whom touched a computer for the very first time during this trip.🧠 Knowledge Sharing: Conducted intensive workshops at the Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) and led Teacher CPDs to ensure technology becomes a sustainable tool in the classroom.Jennifer and Dow, your hard work and passion are the "engine room" turning our vision into reality. We just wrapped up a high-impact Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session for our central cluster of 7 partnering schools right here in Kasungu!At Tech Bridges, we believe that providing hardware is only half the battle—empowering teachers is where the real transformation happens. We are delighted to have successfully hosted a comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session at Kanjaluni CDSS, bringing together headteachers and computer teachers from all 11 schools within our Northern Kasungu cluster.

This collaborative session focused on practical digital tools designed to transform both classroom instruction and school management.

Key training highlights included:

Content Exploration via Kolibri & Pezani, Xulendo: Empowering teachers to access high-quality, curriculum-aligned digital resources offline/onlline.

Technical Sustainability: Ensuring hardware longevity and security through Software Updater training and the Zorin OS Education appendices.

It was inspiring to see the commitment from all 11 schools in the Northern Cluster as we work together to bridge the digital divide. By mastering these tools, our educators are ensuring that students in Northern Kasungu have access to a modern, tech-forward education.

A digital revolution at Nthunduwala CDSS! 🌍💻
Today is a landmark day for the students at Nthunduwala Community Day Secondary School.
With the incredible support of The Hardy Bunch Foundation, Tech Bridges to Malawi has delivered a transformative tech suite to the school. For many of these students, today was the very first time they have ever touched a laptop.
To ensure this access is sustainable and reliable, we provided:
✅ 22 Laptops – Opening the door to digital literacy.
✅ Solar Lithium System – Providing clean, consistent power.
✅ Starlink – High-speed internet to connect this rural community to the world.
Seeing the curiosity and joy as these students powered up their first computers reminds us why digital equity is so vital. A massive thank you to The Hardy Bunch Foundation for their partnership in making this possible.
