Happy Earth Day, Leaders! ๐ŸŒ

As we mark Earth Day, thank you for the work you are already doing to care for your communities and the environment.

This week, letโ€™s also:
โ€ข share what your community is doing
โ€ข invite more people to take part
โ€ข show simple actions others can copy
โ€ข connect environmental care with everyday generosity

If your community has activities this Earth Week, please share them with us. We would love to highlight your work across the movement.

This digital record documents a specialized seminar hosted by the Y.E.R โ€“ Voices for Eco-Resilience, focusing on the dynamics of internal and urban migration. The presentation is part of a broader educational Workshop initiative by CHUSDE, which serves as a platform for discussing how populations shift within a country's borders and into city centers.

While the metadata reflects a diverse digital environment filled with various unrelated cultural and financial topics, the core purpose of this specific entry is to provide a forum for environmental and social resilience discourse.

Ultimately, the content highlights the intersection of human movement and sustainable development through a collaborative instructional format.

We are proud to share that the Time to Deliver Campaign in Kasungu was a great success!

The successful submission of our petition to the District Council has now gained media attention, highlighting critical Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) challenges affecting healthcare facilities in the district.

As captured in this publication, issues such as inadequate sanitation infrastructure, poor hygiene conditions, and limited access to safe water continue to put the lives of mothers, newborns, patients, and healthcare workers at risk. These are not just statistics these are real challenges affecting our communities every day.

This campaign has demonstrated the power of collective action. Civil society organisations, community members, and stakeholders came together to raise their voices and demand improved WASH services in healthcare facilities.

We are encouraged by the response from district authorities and remain hopeful that this momentum will translate into tangible action, increased investment, and accountability in addressing WASH gaps.

This is only the beginning.
Let us continue working together to ensure that every healthcare facility has:
โœ” Safe and reliable water
โœ” Adequate sanitation facilities
โœ” Proper hygiene services

Because healthcare without WASH is not safe healthcare.

ENGAGEMENT MEETING WITH THE MALAWI HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION (MHRC)

Today, we held a productive engagement meeting with the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC) at Kasungu Municipality Hall to create awareness and discuss key issues outlined in the Access To Information Act of 2017 (ATIA) and to strengthen collaboration on the promotion and protection of human rights at community level.

The meeting provided a valuable platform to reflect on human rights priorities, accountability, civic awareness, and the role of local institutions and civil society in advancing human dignity and justice. We appreciate MHRCโ€™s continued commitment to engaging stakeholders and ensuring that human rights principles are understood and upheld by all.

We look forward to sustained collaboration in promoting rights-based approaches, community empowerment, and inclusive development across Kasungu and beyond.

During the Foodprint Project in Western Kenya back in 2022 with fellow youths from Kenya, Germany and Poland. Was a great time going around advocating and creating awareness on our food choices as they are part and parcel of the climatic impacts. The project ended in 2024 but the message rages on!! Please, mind your food choices so you are not part of the influence for bad agricultural practices that harm the environment!! Help spread the message!!
