Local organisation, Youth Action Movement (YAM), has encouraged young people in Dowa District and surrounding areas to join registered youth groups to access accurate information on health and well-being.

Yusuf Kaisi, the Chairperson of YAM, which is a Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM)-related entity, said this during the organisation’s ongoing membership registration exercise, which takes place every Monday and Friday at FPAM offices in Dowa District.

Speaking to , Kaisi said youth groups help young people understand physical and emotional changes associated with adolescence while promoting responsible decision-making.

He added that members also receive training in entrepreneurship and sexual and reproductive health, including family planning methods aimed at reducing unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

A Kaisi alankhula izi pomwe ntchito yolembetsa mamembala atsopano m’gululi ikupitirirabe.

Polankhula ndi wailesi ya Yetu, a Kaisi ati magulu ngati YAM ali ndi kuthekera kothandiza achinyamata kumvetsa kusintha komwe kumachitika m’matupi awo akamakula komanso kuwathandiza kupanga ziganizo zoyenera pa moyo wawo.

A Kaisi awonjezeranso kuti m’gululi achinyamata amaphunzitsidwa za luso pamalonda osiyanasiyana, thanzi pankhani zogonana komanso kupatsidwa upangiri pa njira zakulera pofuna kupewa mimba zosakonzekera ndi matenda opatsirana pogonana.

Iwo atinso kupezeka kwa magulu achinyamata kumathandiza dziko kuthana ndi mchitidwe wodzipha pakati pa achinyamata chifukwa malo amenewa amakhala otetezeka komanso achinsinsi pomwe achinyamata amatha kufotokoza nkhawa zawo momasuka.
