African Youth Artistic Poetry - AYAP WE HAVE A DREAM TO MAKE

14/05/2026

Today’s workshop in progress 🎤✨

At African Youth Artistic Poetry, we continue sharpening voices, confidence, and the art of performance. Today, our members are being trained on how to recite poetry with an audible, clear, and powerful voice, because every poem deserves to be heard and felt.

Poetry is not only written with ink, but also delivered with passion, expression, and courage. 📖🔥

Voices Rising: A Note from Our Young Poetesses 🌸

On the 5th of April, during our AYAP Mini Poetry Competition celebrating National Poetry Month, something powerful happened — young voices didn’t just speak, they soared.

To our 1est Kelvin Ashuza, 2nd, Lady Cadeaux and 3rd Cecile place winners: your words carried courage, truth, and imagination. You reminded us that poetry is not about perfection, but about honesty — about daring to be heard.

From trembling hands holding paper to confident voices filling the space, you showed growth, resilience, and the beauty of self-expression. Each of you proved that your stories matter, your voices matter, and your dreams are valid.

This is only the beginning. Keep writing when it’s hard. Keep sharing when you’re unsure. Keep believing when doubt whispers otherwise.

AYAP is proud of you — not just for winning, but for rising.

“Your voice is your power. Use it.”

Good news

Our founder is to participate at Zomba City Festival this year

Originally from the DRC, Eagle Pro's journey into poetry began after displacement and loss, shaping a voice that speaks not only for himself, but for a wider community.

A spoken word artist, author, and founder of African Youth Artistic Poetry (AYAP) based in Dzaleka, his work is rooted in advocacy, culture, and real-life experience.

Through his writing and mentorship, he continues to empower young artists and create space for new voices to emerge.

At the Zomba City Festival 2026, expect poetry grounded in truth, resilience, and purpose.

Last Saturday was nothing short of inspiring! ✨

‎AYAP hosted an exciting mini-competition that brought together passionate, talented, and driven young people ready to showcase their skills and ideas. The energy, creativity, and confidence displayed were truly amazing to witness.

‎Moments like these remind us why we do what we do, creating spaces where youth can express themselves, grow, and shine. 🌱

‎A big shoutout to everyone who participated, supported, and made this activity a success. This is just the beginning… more impactful moments are coming! 🚀
