MEWA-Malawi Education Writers Association A professional organization for the members of the media who cover education at all levels.

Founded in 2009, Active Girls Initiative Centre-AGIC is a Malawian NGO registered under the Trustees Incorporation Rules (CAP. 5:03) of 2018. We are a child, girls' centred organization with most of our interventions reaching out to children, girls and young women.

AGIC MALAWI

The initiative targets hardworking girls at 70 percent and boys at 30 percent by a way of rewarding them with thank you prizes that include school related materials.

Currently, our target are the four Traditional Authorities of Kasisi, Katunga, Mulilima and Maseya in the Shire Valley district of Chikwawa. But our pilot phase, has targeted two of the four T/As namely Kasisi and Katunga in schools of Dyeratu and Pende Primary.

Our targets are learners from Standard 5-8... We will go up to higher levels when resources permit.

We are also doing; HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence for young people, Child Rights & Early Childhood Development, Environment, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
